AYN Thor review - "A truly phenomenal entry into the handheld gaming sphere"
AYN Thor review - "A truly phenomenal entry into the handheld gaming sphere"If you, like me, have an interest in retro gaming, you’ve likely come to realise that getting involved in that scene in the modern era is nigh impossible unless you’re filthy rich. With even not-so-old consoles like the Nintendo 3DS going for used prices ranging around $300 on average, and older consoles being pretty difficult to get ahold of in general, current markets are not conducive to digging into the monumental past of video game history. ... The GameSir Pocket Taco - “Well-made and well-designed, but not always user-friendly"
The GameSir Pocket Taco - “Well-made and well-designed, but not always user-friendly"It can be frustrating when good construction and design meet a bizarre software gimmick, which is exactly what my experience with the GameSir Pocket Taco was. Conceptually, it’s genius - a clasp-on controller that lets you use your phone like a classic Game Boy.  But in practice, it leaves much to be desired on that end, which is doubly frustrating for what is undoubtedly a well-designed, solid Bluetooth gamepad that would be worth the price of admission on its own. ... Gunnar Pinnacles glasses review - Sophisticated Look
Gunnar Pinnacles glasses review - Sophisticated LookGunnar is known for their fantastic, blue-light blocking glasses that aim to help gamers play on their devices for longer. Using screens all of the time can cause eye strain and headaches, so cancelling out some of the blue light can help with that. Gunnar has released a new addition to the Strata Collection - the Gunnar Pinnacles. The Strata Collection is inspired by architecture, with this pair of glasses being a bit angular in its frame. The frames themselves are made from magnesium-aluminium and feel quite weighty and sturdy. There are these little square textured patterns on the sides of the frames that just feel very unique and well-designed. I like the silver on the bridge of the nose as well, breaking up all of the black metal. These glasses have an overall sleek look to them, which could easily be worn in a more professional setting or just as a day-to-day pair of glasses. They are an extra-wide pair of lenses, which really do a good job of making a statement on your face. ... [ MORE ]

Ponchorado review - "A whimsical bullet heaven masterpiece"
Ponchorado review - "A whimsical bullet heaven masterpiece"Ponchorado is a cartoony western bullet heaven in which you play as a forgotten stuntman, Poncho. Stuck in the remnants of an unfinished silent film, Poncho is ready to break free. To do so, he’ll need to take on the ten Gatekeepers Bosses so he can nominate himself for the BOSSCAR award and finally transition from a nobody extra to a leading man. A funny little bullet heaven with a whimsical vibe, Ponchorado is as adorable as it is entertaining. The 1930s cartoon-style aesthetic blends well with the satirical humour you’ll encounter throughout your adventure. ... [ MORE ]

Tomb Raider review - “A perfect port”The 2013 Tomb Raider was a smash hit, breathing new life into the iconic series. Now at long last, Crystal Dynamics’ reimagining of Lara Croft's origin story is available on Android and iOS. Finally, you can experience Lara’s transformation from a naïve archaeologist to an unstoppable parkouring force of nature natively on your mobile device. Zootropolis Flash Cable Guys review - "Cute statue, fantastic design"When it comes to fans of different pop culture and media, there really is someone who's a fan of everything. With Zootropolis 2 recently out in cinema, it makes sense that Flash the Sloth has his own Cable Guys - so that he can hold your controller or mobile phone.  Cable Guys create a bunch of large and mini holders that can dress up any sort of gaming space or media centre. Zootropilis Flash is a full-sized Cable Guys, able to hold larger controllers and mobile phones without covering much of the face, which is very nice. ... [ MORE ]

SlimyLeap review - "Infinitely moving forward"
SlimyLeap review - "Infinitely moving forward"SlimyLeap is a free-to-play, fast-paced, infinite runner where you are a little blob of slime, looking just to move forward! The world is seemingly coming to an end, with a bar of blackness coming from one side of the screen, so you'll need to work your way to the other side quickly to avoid death. Playing as the slime, you sort of draw a line and fling yourself forward, which can feel very frantic when looking to grab onto sticky walls, avoid enemies, and keep moving fast enough for that wall. Moving directly forward isn't the way; you'll need to keep moving through the environment, which gets more challenging as you get deeper into the game. The area full of castles, and beyond the mountains, is extremely challenging as there are so many tall walls that do not have slime on them to stick to.  ... [ MORE ]
