With just 30 minutes until game time, the Backyard kids embark on a wild, time-sensitive mission to track it down and save their season. Fan-favorite characters including Pablo Sanchez, Kiesha Phillips, Achmed Khan, Stephanie Morgan, and more of the Backyard crew return with updated animation, classic humor, and the same charm from the original games. The special is executive produced by Chris Waters, Lindsay Barnett, Avi Savitski, and Ari Pinchot, with Phil Crain serving as Line Producer. It is written by Joe Purdy (“Hey Arnold!”) and directed by Mike Roberts (“Final Space,” “BoJack Horseman”). Animation production is handled by Lighthouse Studios (“Bob’s Burgers The Movie,” “Rick and Morty,” “The Cuphead Show”) and with original music by Jonny Shorr.Backyard Sports: The Animated Special will premiere exclusively on Backyard Sports Youtube channel on January 29, 2026.
