With just a few days left until its December 6 release, Marvel Rivals is all set to send 2024 off with a bang! Developer NetEase Games has recently given us a look at the last of its playable characters with a launch trailer and what else players can look forward to in the game.
Ever since the first reveal of Marvel Rivals, it has often drawn comparisons to Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 as it’s another hero-shooter. While it might not pack the same punch, it has one revolutionary gameplay feature that Blizzard will undoubtedly copy for its own hero-shooter at some point.
There’s no denying the fact that maps are a crucial part of any MOBA game, and that’s the case with NetEase’s Marvel Rivals as well. If you’re a Marvel fan, you’ll find each of the game’s eight maps quite thrilling.
Obviously, all maps in Marvel Rivals have been structured quite intelligently for the game’s shooting needs. Each comes with its own routes to rotate around, shock your enemies, and strike unexpectedly. The game’s unique maps even have other elements, such as high grounds to control areas.
However, what’s really special about all these maps in Marvel Rivals is that they’re dynamic, which adds another layer to immersion!
The dynamic maps will make for so many hilarious moments like this.

Since NetEase has gone with a dynamic approach, all maps are interactive and feature destructible environments. This will allow all Marvel Rivals players to use the surroundings around them tactically, such as crafting new covers or even wreaking havoc upon their enemies’ hideouts!
As we’ve seen in other popular games featuring dynamic maps, these encourage team coordination as players must adapt their strategies to keep up with the changing environment and make matches quite unpredictable, unlike Overwatch 2, where things can get stale.
It’s great to see that NetEase is evolving the hero-shooter formula with its Marvel Rivals. Let’s hope the developer can continue the game’s hype after its launch with worthy-post launch additions.
A brand-new post on the PlayStation blog has opened about Marvel Rivals‘ PS5 Pro enhancements, also revealing to us that the exclusive Scarlet Spider and VEN#m skins will be coming to the PS5 version of the title.
All players on PS5 will have the chance to claim Spider-Man’s Scarlet Spider outfit, but the VEN#m skill will only be available for PS Plus subscribers.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen NetEase resort to rewarding players with free cosmetics. The game, upon its release, will also give players an Iron Min skin for absolutely free as a way to show appreciation.
According to PlayStation, the game will come with a Pro Mode that will allow players to experience it at 60 FPS with higher 4k resolutions in comparison to the base PS5. Alongside higher frame rates, the console will give players enhanced dynamic lighting.
Marvel Rivals looks to be one of the many games that will benefit from PS5 Pro’s new hardware capabilities as Sony attempts to lure more gamers to the console.
