Twitch superstar Kai Cenat has taken on many a gaming challenge during his illustrious career but he may have just signed up for the biggest yet. The streamer has vowed to play through Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) with 100% completion in a live marathon stream when it releases.
Kai is not new to doing crazy and seemingly impossible marathons and has even done it with other creators such as IShowSpeed. But while the GTA 6 marathon seems very exciting, it all hinges on the fact that Rockstar Games actually releases the game. From the decade-long wait we’ve had so far, we all hope it comes out soon.
Kai Cenat announced the marathon during a Twitch stream on January 5, 2025. The streamer declared his commitment to streaming the upcoming game from start to finish. “Y’all know you’re getting a GTA 6 marathon! Bro, I’ll marathon in GTA 6 until it’s one hundred percent complete! One hundred percent!“

Cenat has built his reputation on marathon streams, playing games like Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Red Dead Redemption 2 for days on end. In many of these sessions, he goes beyond gameplay by transforming his stream setup to fit the game’s aesthetic. For example, during his Red Dead Redemption 2 marathon, he dressed as a cowboy and turned his room into a saloon.
Fans now anticipate what creative twist he’ll bring to GTA 6, a game expected to take over 100 hours to fully complete. For those unfamiliar, achieving 100% in a Grand Theft Auto game is no small feat. It involves completing all main story missions, side quests, collectibles, and hidden Easter eggs, which can take upwards of 80 hours.
100% complete is crazy bro gonna be in there for close to a year it’s gonna be so many side missions like that means all achievements too😂

While Cenat’s plans are exciting, they hinge on Rockstar Games staying true to its projected 2025 release date for GTA 6. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel since 2014, with the first official announcement coming in 2023 after years of leaks and speculation.
Rockstar Games has been notably tight-lipped about GTA 6 since releasing its first trailer in December 2023. There are currently rumors of a potential delay to 2026. But Rockstar’s Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, Georgio Jankowski, reassured the community (via LinkedIn) that the game remains on track for a 2025 release.

Kai’s relationship with Rockstar Games has grown over the years. After his emotional reaction to Rockstar following him on Twitter during his Red Dead Redemption 2 marathon, the developer reached out to schedule a meeting. While the meeting was delayed due to his other commitments, it highlights the mutual respect between the creator and the gaming giant.
Rockstar’s silence since the trailer has only filled fans with worry, but the studio has a history of delivering genre-defining hits. Some predict the game could break revenue records, potentially surpassing $1 billion in pre-orders alone, given the series’ massive fanbase and cultural impact.
If Rockstar delivers GTA 6 on time, Kai Cenat’s marathon could be one of the most-watched streams in Twitch history. Until then, we can only wait in patience knowing that Kai is prepared to tackle his biggest challenge yet as soon as Rockstar gives the green light.
