Second Legend of Heroes Game Comes to Switch

Main Title of Dragon Slayer: the Legend of Heroes II

The second Legend of Heroes game is now available on the Switch as part of the EGGCONSOLE collection. Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II is now available as a digital download game on the Nintendo Switch. The game, a 1992 PC RPG from Falcom and part of the long-running Dragon Slayer series of PC RPGs, is now available for the first time outside Japan.

The game, a direct sequel to Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, is set 20 years after the events of the first Legend of Heroes, and follows Atlas, the son of the hero of the previous game. It is part of the EGGCONSOLE collection, a selection of Japanese PC games being ported to the Switch by D4 Enterprise, who previously brought up the EGGCONSOLE Relics in 2023. This collection also features the first Ys game and a number of other early PC games from the MSX and the PC-8801.

This is not the only piece of Falcom history to recently get news of a new release. Earlier this year, Falcom announced a remake of the first game in the Trails in the Sky series. In addition, the 10th chapter in the Ys series, tracking the journey of Adol and friends, YS X: Nordics released in October, 2024.

Players longing to get a sense of where both the Legend of Heroes series came from and a sense of Falcom's place in JRPG history can now do so on the Nintendo Switch.

Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II is available now on Nintendo Switch eShop for $6.49
