Marvel Rivals: Mr. Fantastic Abilities Are Suspiciously Similar to a League of Legends Champion That Came 12 Years Ago

Marvel Rivals’ Season 0 is about to end soon, and gamers are wondering what’s coming next for the game. Fortunately, developer NetEase Games has released an official video blog revealing what players can expect.

The next Season of Marvel Rivals is all set to bring a number of new maps and heroes. One of the most exciting additions will be none other than Mister Fantastic! However, when one takes a look at this character’s abilities, it seems like they’ve been straight-up copied from a League of Legends champion that came 12 years ago.

Marvel Rivals next hero might be straight out of League of Legends

Reed Richards is all set to stretch his way into Marvel Rivals next week, and there’s tons to unpack about his arrival. From the official gameplay and details about Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, it’s quite evident that Mister Fantastic is going to shake up the meta and roster.

Mister Fantastic will be another Duelist in Marvel Rivals. This means that it’s going to deal massive damage and directly engage in combat.

His abilities include Stretching Strikes, which allow him to grab his enemies from a distance; Multi-target Grab for holding two enemies at once and slamming them; and Muscle Inflation, which allows him to bulk his body to deflect any incoming damage.

Finally, there’s his Ultimate Ability, which can deal with a barrage of aerial slam attacks that are similar to Winter Soldier’s but unique in an elastic way.

These abilities are quite cool and will undoubtedly add a new element of gameplay. However, if you’re someone who has played League of Legends, Mister Fantastic’s abilities will remind you of none other than Zac.

In League of Legends, Zac has a special place in the hearts of players. Just like Reed Richards, he has an elastic and stretchable body.

Zach’s abilities in the game allow his arms to be used for crowd control, bouncing great distances, and dividing into blobs to regain health. Even his ultimate allows him to leap into the air and bounce in a target area to deal damage.

NetEase might not like to admit it, but it’s crystal clear that the developer has taken some sort of inspiration from Zach while developing Mister Fantastic.

It’s not just his insane and borderline broken abilities that make Mister Fantastic a force to be reckoned with; it’s the fact that he will have more HP than any other Duelist in the entire roster of Marvel Rivals.

In the NetEase hero shooter, Duelists are known to have just 250 HP, but Richard Reeds has one-upped everyone even before making his official debut on the battlefield. In the gameplay footage, it can be seen that the character has 350 HP.

There’s a chance that his HP could be inflated even further when Mister Fantastic uses his Muscle Inflation ability. However, it’s still unclear if his health is buffed due to the move or if a teammate is helping him.

It’s still quite incredible to see that Marvel Rivals will be getting four new characters in one season. Even though they are from one superhero group, they won’t be coming at once. We will see Sue Storm and Richards being playable when the season kicks off.

On the other hand, Human Torch and The Thing will join their teammates at a later date during Season 1.
