“Cyberpunk 2077 blows Elden Ring out of the water”: 2024’s Most Controversial Gaming Take Has Broken the Internet

A diverse range of personalities comprise the gaming community, each holding varying opinions about several games widely regarded as absolute successes. In this instance, a well-known insider on X shared their thoughts on why they believe a recent, praised title is superior to another, prompting swift responses from fans.

Rino says that despite everything, Cyberpunk 2077 is a much better game than Elden Ring in every aspect. Among the comments responding to this controversial statement, many players pointed out how poorly CD Projekt Red’s title performed at launch. This, in contrast, did not happen with FromSoftware’s game.

Rino Lashes Out at Elden Ring Fans, Saying Cyberpunk 2077 Is a Better Game

Social media often presents a complex environment for expressing opinions about video games. X is no exception, as numerous prominent video game insiders actively participate on the platform to generate traffic and interactions through their various posts.

In this instance, the well-known insider Rino delved deeper into controversy by sharing his thoughts on two highly popular games, arguing that one is simply superior to the other.

The insider quickly posted that Cyberpunk 2077, despite its flaws, is still a much more solid game in every aspect compared to Elden Ring.

Gameplay-focused vs story driven.

The awards talk alone.

The opinions are divided.

Some FromSoftware fans don’t agree with this.

Obviously, this drove fans of FromSoftware’s popular title crazy, and responses quickly poured in, explaining why this game is much better besides the obvious differences in genre. Surprisingly, many users agreed with this opinion, saying they prefer a solid RPG over Soulslike mechanics.

A Controversial Opinion That Generates All Kinds of Debate

The responses were quite creative in defending Elden Ring, saying that at least this game launched without any errors and didn’t take three years to become stably playable, unlike Cyberpunk 2077.

This post greatly benefited Rino, bringing a lot of traffic in terms of responses and opinions. The insider also took the time to respond to nearly all the comments. The majority of the comments made the debate very civil.

Several comments pointed out that the CD Projekt Red-developed game offers significantly more extensive content than the FromSoftware-developed title.

Because it’s a pure role-playing game filled with all sorts of side missions and a spectacular world full of activities, it’s quite hard to compete with this proposition. Many users even praised the Polish studio for including many of the characters in the story.

Despite the controversy, many players agree that Elden Ring is not a title for every type of player. Many of its mechanics, as well as its own gameplay, are quite difficult for any newcomer to the genre.

The game’s latest expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, even increased its difficulty, further proving that this type of experience is not for everyone. Despite being a quite controversial statement, it has some basis.
