It hasn’t been that long since we took a closer look at Sandberg’s Mag Wireless Powerbank 10000 ALU, which was a great powerbank that offered wireless charging. We assumed that would be the last of any new powerbank reviews for a while, at least until we got the chance to take a look at NEWDERY’s heavy-duty powerbank. Like Sandberg’s device, NEWDERY’s powerbank is also designed to support wireless charging. We were curious to see how this convenient accessory would perform.
Design
NEWDERY’s 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank is a standard-looking powerbank with not that many standout features. The device has a plastic case, small LED indicators to show the battery level, a USB-C port, a USB-A port, a power button, and a few markings on the top. Compared to Sandberg’s powerbank, the 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank is quite a bit thicker. Thanks to the black finish, the device looks good for every type of setting, be it to go play Pokémon GO with friends or to have it on your desk in an office setting. All in all, the powerbank doesn’t have too many bells and whistles, which we still prefer for a device such as this.
Comfort
Comfort is of course a defining feature for a powerbank, and heavy-duty powerbanks often struggle with this aspect. Nonetheless, NEWDERY’s 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank is actually not too big nor is it too heavy. The device measures 3,10 cm x 6,95 cm x 11,10 cm and it weighs roughly 335 g. While this is of course quite a bit heavier than Sandberg’s device, it also offers double the capacity. All things considered, this is still a very light and portable powerbank, and not requiring a cable for modern devices already ensures that there is no hassle with cables. The device also shows its battery level via the LED lights on the side.
Specs
Overview
There’s not that much to explain when it comes to how a powerbank works. You just charge the device, and you’re pretty much good to go. The 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank allows wireless charging of your smartphone and other devices, but it also has USB-C and USB-A output. We noticed fast charging was supported, and that is simply all there is to it.
With a total battery capacity of, 20000 mAh, you have a heavy-duty powerbank at your disposal. For reference purposes, we used our Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G in the Sandberg review. The Mag Wireless Powerbank 10000 ALU could charge our smartphone twice, and then still had a bit of power left for something else. This time, we were able to nearly charge our phone five times with the 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank. This added a bit of additional comfort, as we also didn’t have to charge the powerbank after using it once or twice. Charging the 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank is done via the USB-C port. The USB-C port also doubles as the output, if you want to do wired charging of devices that do not support wireless charging. There is also a USB-A output, which is a nice bonus. Once again, if your phone cover is too thick, wireless charging might not work that well. On top of that, the magnetic properties were not that strong, so we preferred to use the 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank when sitting at our desk when using the wireless charging option.
Conclusion
NEWDERY’s 20000 mAh Magnetic Power Bank is a great device for on the go, but also for a home or office setting. Thanks to the capacity of the powerbank, we never feared for our smartphone battery to run out, and we also didn’t have to charge the powerbank after each usage. The option for wireless charging, as well as a USB-C and USB-A output, make this a very versatile companion. If you’re looking for a decent powerbank, we suggest looking into this one.
