Better Call Saul's sophomore season saw some major developments for the Breaking Bad prequel. Relationships were strained after the conclusion of season one, where progress on the Sandpiper class action lawsuit pushed Chuck to admit to having been the one blocking Jimmy's growth at Hamlin, Hamlin, & McGill. Chuck's outburst got in Jimmy's head, causing him to skip a meeting with another firm, Davis & Main, who was prepared to offer Jimmy a job due to his work ethic and relationship with the Sandpiper residents. Instead, Jimmy reminisced with Mike Ehrmantraut, vowing to never again make the mistake of doing the "right thing".
