When people got their first look at Starfield, they were excited to have a truly next-gen foray into the final frontier for humanity. Space has always been a topic of contention in gaming because of the limitless possibilities available on this abyssal canvas.
So, when the game finally launched, many were disappointed that the studio couldn’t fill out this canvas substantially. But, another game, which had a rocky launch, managed to redeem itself and is now also encouraging people to give the recent launch another try!
The similarity between the two games’ initial announcement and impression was quite apparent. Both claimed to offer players unparalleled freedom when exploring the stars. Since then, Hello Games has worked tirelessly to create the experience many expected, and that game is now directing people towards Starfield.
No Man’s Sky made me wanna play Starfield

Reddit user usm121 claims they first got the game, but gave up on it after a few hours as it didn’t pique their interest and curiosity enough. After a few months, they picked up No Man’s Sky on sale, and this was after it got the massive World’s update which already made it a competitor to Starfield. Once they started playing, they couldn’t stop.
However, there was one issue: a lack of immersion. The OP claims they never felt like their character was ever part of the universe. On thinking of a game that could offer a similar amount of exploration and solve the immersion issue, their mind instantly snapped back to the recent space title.
On installing the game once more, they claimed “everything just clicked this time” and they appreciated the game a lot more. Replies to the long post agree with OP’s sentiment on both the games.

One even states they wish the two games could merge to create the perfect space sim.

Both games have their strengths and weaknesses, but could learn from one another to build a truly immersive space simulator that allows for boundless exploration and constant expansion. But, maybe that’s asking for too much.
Hello Games’ post-launch work made the game the experience we know and love today. Howard’s studio can now turn gamer sentiment in its favor with Shattered Space, slated to launch sometime this year. The expansion is going to add to the story of the game, giving players more content to enjoy.
The DLC is an ambitious project, which makes it strange that the entire journey of the expansion will take place on a single planet. Speaking about the DLC, Todd Howard explained that the planet and city have been handcrafted, so there will be no procedural generation for location in the expansion.
He also revealed that it is not the only DLC planned for the game, and a second one is already in the works. So, for those who were excited to see how the game is going to grow, there appears to be a long road ahead for the title.
