Starfield isn’t just about space travel and exploration; there’s plenty to do in the game, including drug manufacturing. One of these drugs is Aurora, which is not only illegal in most regions but also highly potent when consumed. Naturally, many players will be interested in learning how to make Aurora and sell it for a decent profit.
Channeling your inner Walter White and cooking Aurora on a mass scale can be highly lucrative in Starfield. If you’re looking to start your own drug empire in the Bethesda title, here’s how to do it.
Aurora is a very potent drug that slows down time by 40% for 10 seconds when consumed. It is highly addictive, so using it regularly will quickly lead to addiction, which can hinder your progress. If you find yourself suffering from addiction in the game, check out our Starfield guide on how to cure it.
Before you can make Aurora in Bethesda’s Starfield, you need to complete a specific questline. Head to Neon, where you’ll witness an NPC named Neshar being arrested by the security force. Further investigation and interacting with Neshar in his jail cell will reveal that he was smuggling drugs, and the entire drug racket is led by Legrande.
Legrande is the owner of Legrande’s Liquors, located near the downtown area of Neon. Visit the store, and eventually, the questline will lead you to getting a job with Xenofresh Corporation. Here, you’ll learn how to make Aurora at the Pharmaceutical Station.
Once you learn the recipe, you can craft it as many times as you want at any Pharmaceutical Station. To craft Aurora, you need 1x Benzene, 1x Stimulant, 1x Chasmbass Oil, and 2x Hallucinogen. All of these items can be bought from vendors in Neon.
However, if you prefer to hunt for the ingredients organically, every resource is easy to secure except for Chasmbass Oil, which comes from Chasmbass fish, only found in Neon.
As mentioned earlier, Aurora is only legal in Neon. If you try to take the drug into any other Settled System outside of Neon, it will be considered contraband, and you’ll get into trouble with the law. For additional Starfield help on managing contraband and removing bounties, check out our bounty removal guide.
If you want to sell Aurora, you need to do business with vendors in a factionless region or install a Cargo Shield or Jammer Frequency. This will ensure that your ship doesn’t reveal contraband during scans whenever you enter a new region.
Your best bet to make in-game credits through Aurora would be to sell it in Neon itself. There’s a shop in the main city with a bright yellow banner that reads “Trade Authority.” You can sell any contraband here, including Aurora.
