Phil Spencer Has Spent Over 100 Hours in This Xbox Exclusive but Surprisingly It’s Not Starfield

2024 is more or less a good year for Xbox gamers. Throughout this year, Xbox has gone through ups and downs, but these are mostly because of some wrong decisions made by Microsoft regarding game releases or revised Game Pass subscription policy. This year players have seen Xbox share its exclusive games with PlayStation to expand the fanbase.

From massive layoffs to mocking the PlayStation DualSense controller, this entire year has brought Phil Spencer to the limelight from time to time. Sometimes he was criticized; other times, players agreed with him. However, like every year, once again, the CEO of Xbox Gaming proved he is a hardcore gamer who has ground different titles for hours.

Phil Spencer Grinds One Xbox-Exclusive Title More Than Others, but It’s Not Bethesda

Phil Spencer is one of the gigantic names in the gaming world. This 56-year-old business tycoon not only founded Microsoft Gaming but also revolutionized the console and PC market simultaneously. Microsoft is the only company that has access to PC and console gaming at the same time, which both Valve and Sony lack.

So, it is not surprising that the CEO of Microsoft Gaming is trying to bring a handheld gaming device to challenge the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch. Similarly, it is also not unexpected to players that even in his busy schedule, Phil Spencer almost grinds games daily, and his gameplay time overshines thousands of regular gamers.

Like every year, Xbox has released the ‘Xbox Year in Review’ tool for 2024, where players can check their personal gameplay stats this year, and like the previous year, two days back, Phil Spencer shared his gaming stats on Thread.

His post reveals that being the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, he grinds Xbox-exclusive games a lot. Last year, Bethesda’s 2023 title Starfield was number one on the list, but this year, it has lost its crown to another Xbox-exclusive game.

Beating Bethesda, Turn 10 Studios’ 2023 sim racing video game Forza Motorsport has made its way into the top three most played games of Phil Spencer, with 27 hours of playing time. Starfield has come down to 7th this year among his top 10 favorite games.

Xbox Exclusives Aren’t in the Top Spot in the CEO’s 2024 Gaming History

Because he is the CEO of Xbox gaming, of course, it makes sense that Spencer grinds Xbox-exclusive games a lot, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try multiplatform games. If you go through his Xbox Year in Review stats for 2023 and 2024, you’ll be sure of his favorite game, and it’s a multiplatform game released last year.

Despite Diablo 4 getting into different disputes recently, it is undoubtedly the favorite game of this 56-year-old game enthusiast. His 2023 stats revealed that he played the game for a whopping 143 hours, and this year, this gameplay time has increased and become 261 hours.

In fact, Diablo 4 is the most-played game of the Microsoft Gaming CEO in 2024, with Fallout 76 in second place (100 hours).

It is astonishing how this business tycoon managed to play 160 games this year and gained almost 8,000 gamerscore through completing 304 Xbox achievements.

This clearly states another fact that no matter whether it’s an Xbox-exclusive game or a multiplatform game, Phil Spencer plays most games on the Xbox console. Though he promotes Cloud gaming a lot, he has spent only 9 hours on Cloud.

It’s almost the end of 2024, and 2025 is about to release some of the most anticipated Xbox titles, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, etc. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what December 2025 will reveal about the Microsoft Gaming CEO’s likes and dislikes.
