Cyberpunk 2077 has followed a rocky trajectory with its critical reception over the years, starting out as a highly divisive game before eventually ending up as a widely acclaimed one, thanks to consistent, significant, and numerous post-launch fixes and additions. From a commercial perspective, however, the game’s graph has been much less erratic, and what started out as a big seller for CD Projekt RED has continued to sell well years on from release.
In fact, CD Projekt has announced that as of November 26, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 30 million units worldwide across all platforms, up from 25 million units in October last year. Meanwhile, its expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, now stands at 8 million units sold, up from 5 million units as of the end of 2023.
Clearly, CD Projekt has enjoyed prolonged and consistent sales for Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, even with support for the game having virtually ended at this point, and the bulk of the company’s focus now being on The Witcher 4’s development.
