EA and Maxis have announced a collaboration with content creators to develop official kits using The Sims 4 Creator Kits, with the first ones expected to be released before the end of the year. These kits will work similarly to other Sims 4 kits, adding themed items to the game. What makes them unique is that they will be available for download on both console and PC, and players will have more choices for on-trend aesthetics and styles to be added to their game.
This move marks the first time that a complete collection of in-game assets has been created by a content creator and officially published by The Sims development team, making them accessible to all players.
The upcoming kits are a natural progression in Maxis and EA relationship with creators, as The Sims 4 Creator Kits have been a popular source of user-generated content, including mods for hair, clothing, furniture, and more. Maxis has already collaborated with select creators’ multiple times in 2024, introducing new clothes and customization options.
In addition to this, EA has also revealed plans for a live-action Sims movie in partnership with Amazon and Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap.
While the specific content of the first round of player-made kits remains undisclosed, EA has confirmed that they should be available in November 2024 across Sims channels. Visit the official website for more updates.
