“It’s so unrelentingly s**t”: The Starfield Update That Added Vehicles May Not Be As Great As It Looked During Gamescom 2024

While fans await the release of the Starfield: Shattered Space DLC, Bethesda surprised everyone with a huge update. It introduced the game’s first land vehicle, the Rev-8, along with other tweaks and enhancements.

Vehicles had been teased for a while, and people were very excited about it. However, it seems the reality of these new game elements isn’t as good as fans hoped them to be. Instead, some users have been left feeling more frustrated than ever.

Starfield’s Less-than-Stellar Land Vehicle Debut

The Rev-8 update, revealed at Gamescom 2024, was supposed to be a game-changer, quite literally. Starfield’s vast landscapes can feel a bit overwhelming. With over 1000 planets to explore, you wouldn’t want to be traveling all across them on foot, would you?

The introduction of a land vehicle seemed like the perfect solution, offering players a new way to explore each planet’s extensive terrains.

Players had been asking for them for quite a while, and the official announcement about them coming to the game was nothing short of a great day.

Instead of the smooth rides players were hoping for, they’re reporting some game-breaking that make their journeys anything but enjoyable.

One X/Twitter user took to the platform to share their less-than-ideal experience with the Rev-8. The video they posted showed the vehicle launching into the sky like a rocket before crashing their game entirely.

OP was understandably unimpressed, and the replies quickly filled with others echoing their disappointment.

In the replies to their tweet, OP explained that their problems with Starfield have gone beyond the new land vehicle.

It’s been running very poorly on their Xbox Series X, with constant freezes and glitches while exploring the procedurally generated planets. Several others also reported similar issues.

In the same thread, one user stated that the update has been terrible for them, even after giving it a fair try.

Their frustration drove them so far as to say they wished they could trade in the game for something else. Unfortunately for Bethesda, this sentiment isn’t hard to come across. That being said, not everyone is convinced that the update is as bad as people are making it out to be.

In the same thread, one user accused the OP of trying to slander the game and ruin the studio’s reputation.

They claimed they weren’t facing any of the issues OP has. While some players may have had a smoother experience, there’s an undeniably significant number that aren’t.

How are you finding the new Starfield update? We’d love to hear your thoughts about it in the comments below!
