GTA 6 Has Been Spotted In Footage Reportedly Leaked From Rockstar San Diego’s Own Office

Grand Theft Auto VI has seemingly suffered a leak, albeit not in the way you might have expected. Images showing the upcoming crime opus running on a PC screen have apparently been taken from the office of Rockstar San Diego, rather some dark corner of the web, although it is believed the footage is over three years old.

The images and video were posted on reddit by a user named JustLovett0 overnight, who wrote: “Someone I am close to took it when they worked at the Rockstar office for a few months,” before clarifying the image post contains “a photo from mid-2021. I think it’s been long enough I can post this.” It depicts one of the game’s protagonists standing against a wall, and not much else.

The office area itself does indeed seem to belong to Rockstar San Diego, due rot the shape of the windows and the code beginning ‘SAND featured’ on the PlayStation and Xbox development kits.

The reddit user who posted them was asked if they were worried the friend in question would be tracked down for the leak, to which they replied: “He is super far from Rockstar now, doesn’t work there or in any related field. I’m not worried but I’ll probably delete the post soon enough. Hopefully there’s no camera footage from 3.5ish years ago.”

GTA VI is currently in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a release window confirmed for Fall 2025. It was reported last month that a number of video game publishers are holding off to committing to a release date for their titles out of fear of clashing with the Rockstar commercial juggernaut.

At the Golden Joystick Awards in November 2024, GTA VI walked away with the award for ‘Most Wanted Game’ prompting Rockstar Games to tease that there are ‘absolutely mind-blowing things‘ to come.
