Blizzard Has Reportedly Earned $150 Million From Diablo IV Microtransactions


A now-deleted LinkedIn post for Harrison Froeschke, Senior Product Manager at Blizzard Entertainment, has revealed that the company earned $150 million from micro transactions attached to Diablo IV.

Froeschke revealed that they had led the “monetisation strategy of the store cosmetics, pricing, bundle offers, personalised discounts, and roadmap planning which have driven over $150m [microtransaction] lifetime revenue.” As mentioned the post is no longer viewable to the public, but it also mentions Froeschke has overseen game sales “resulting in over $1bn total lifetime revenue.”

Diablo IV launched back in June 2023 and in just five days has pulled in a whopping $666 million for Blizzard. The dungeon crawler is continuing to receive robust post-launch support from the developer, with the next expansion, Vessel of Hatred, arriving on October 8.
