On December 3rd, Fortnite released the highly anticipated Chapter 5, with a significant map revamp taking place. Along with the map changing, the first season of the chapter was released, resulting in a new Battle Pass. As is typical with Fortnite battle passes, players can obtain a variety of skins, gliders, emotes, v-bucks, back blings, and pickaxes on their way to level 100.

Pickaxes in the Battle Pass are some of Fortnite's most sought-after items, with unique variations being hugely popular among the player base. With the release of the newest Battle Pass, seven new pickaxes have been added, each with a unique design.

7 The Takedown

The Takedown is one of the newest pickaxes available in Fortnite, with it being one of the two uncommon pickaxes in the Battle Pass. The Takedown features a clean look that uses red, black, gray, and silver as its primary colors. The standout of the pickaxe is its red handle, which catches the eye due to its distinct and vivid coloring.

The Takedown belongs to the famed and integral character Jonesy's Revenge Set, with The Takedown fitting the set's theme like other cosmetics such as Legend's Modkit and Jones' Underground.

6 Poacher's Regrets

Uncommon

Poacher's Regrets is an uncommon pickaxe that truly encapsulates its name with its unique design. The pickaxe is a part of the Big Cat Brawler Set, with its theme adopting an animalistic design akin to Oscar, the big cat featured in the Battle Pass. Poacher's Regrets is a dual-wielding pickaxe, unlike other pickaxes in Chapter 5, Season 1's Battle Pass.

The pickaxe features black and gold handles alongside tiger skin coated on each blade. The tiger-print patterns, accompanied by black and gold, create a luxurious pickaxe that is sure to look visually stunning on the new map.

5 Duelist's Foil

In Fortnite Battle Royale, The Duelist's Foil is available upon reaching level 38, on page 7 in the Battle Pass. The pickaxe belongs to the En Garde Set, with its theme of grandeur being used for each item in the set. Like the Foil Flex emote in the En Garde Set, the Duelist's Foil is designed like a rapier. It features a luxurious gold handle, while the sword has a thin silver blade.

This pickaxe has an immaculate appearance compared to many of the new pickaxes in the Battle Pass, with the Duelist's Foil looking the least like a pickaxe, thanks to its ethereal appearance.

4 Secret Scimitars

Secret Scimitars is the 2nd dual-wield pickaxe to be introduced into this season's Battle Pass, and is accessible on the Battle Pass' first page. Being the first pickaxe unlocked, Secret Scimitars is an early treat for players with its crisp design, making it a quality pickaxe. Being part of The Underground Set, the Secret Scimitars fit the theme of its main character, Hope.

The pickaxe's main design feature is the light blue circles engraved onto each blade, creating a futuristic look. The Secret Scimitars' use of black handles creates a contrast of colors that makes the pickaxe's design excel.

3 Diamondclaw Picker

The Diamondclaw Picker is a rare pickaxe available upon reaching level 50 in the Battle Pass. As part of getting to the halfway stage of the Battle Pass, the Diamondclaw Picker is a worthy reward, thanks to its design. The pickaxe is part of the Flawless set, themed around diamonds and prestige. Diamondclaw Picker's look features a picker holding a diamond, an unconventional design choice.

The pickaxe's color scheme of blue, gold, green, and black, alongside its unique design, make Diamondclaw Picker one of the best pickaxes in the Battle Pass.

2 The Scratcher

The Scratcher is sure to be one of the most popular pickaxes available in the season. The Scratcher is an item from Family Guy, with it being a running gag in the show, eventually making its way into Fortnite and its new Battle Pass. As part of the Family Guy Set, The Scratcher is 2D, like many other animated items.

At level 66, The Scratcher can be unlocked, although it will be time-consuming to get the item. With The Scratcher being gold, its distinct color scheme makes it impossible to miss when in the field, making it one of the most impressive pickaxes in Fortnite.

1 Ember Pick

Epic

The only epic pickaxe available in the Battle Pass, the Ember Pick matches up to its rarity level due to its grand and intense appearance. With level 100 being the required level to attain the item, it will take players a large amount of grinding to be able to show off the Ember Pick to friends in Fortnite. The Ember Pick headlines the Flame & Fortune Set as one of two items, indicating the rarity of the pickaxe.

The standout of the Ember Pick is the red flame at the top of the pickaxe, resembling a phoenix's head. Accompanied by the black and gold staff, the Ember Pick emerges as a quality pickaxe in the game.
