Black Ops 6’s Weapon Update Will Make Snipers More Lethal but Treyarch Could Face Fortnite’s Problem

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has taken the community by storm since it was released. Undoubtedly, the Call of Duty games bring the best shooting and battling experience, thanks to their wide variety of weapons and equipment. From assault rifles to shotguns to sniper rifles, the game has no shortage of any category of weapons. The insane gunplay is the most attractive part of every COD experience.

Playing a first-person shooter game without weapons is unthinkable, but often the developers mess things up with frequent updates. Instead of balancing the gameplay, they either make a specific weapon immeasurably powerful or nerf it to the extent that it no longer works. As the latest Black Ops 6 weapon update patch notes arrive, players are anxious about the future of one weapon.

Black Ops 6 Has Brought Severe Changes to Its Weapons in the Latest Patch Note

Updates are common in Call of Duty games. These post-season updates are Activision’s primary way to add new features or fix bugs. Therefore, when Treyarch released a new patch note on December 10 to balance the weapon power, that wasn’t surprising to gamers.

Presently, Black Ops 6 has been going through massive criticisms from fans since they discovered excessive AI use in the game, especially in designing the home screen of the Zombies mode. Still, Treyarch hasn’t stopped working on the game, and the latest patch note proves how dedicated the team is.

The latest patch note delivers significant buffs to some of the most favorite weapons of the game, and the devs take it to X (formerly Twitter) to address it appropriately.

As the announcement says, the team has reduced weapon motion across the board. The reduction may range from 30% to 75%, based on weapon classes. These changes are made to make the weapon usage a lot more stable during battle.

However, the biggest change is made to the Aiming Idle Sway Delay. The announcement says that the idle sway mechanic is also a target of change, and from now on, the idle sway will completely go away as players hold down the aim button for a few seconds for most weapon types.

Additionally, headshot multipliers for all the weapons get some adjustment to become more effective. Compared to other weapons, headshots are mostly done by snipers. Therefore, after this update, snipers will be a lot more powerful, which can bring a different problem to players.

With Overpowered Snipers Black Ops 6 May Face the Same Problem as Fortnite

Whether it is a battle royale or a first-person shooter, no one loves to get sniped out of the blue. Weapons should be balanced, or else they become a headache for the players and the developers. Epic Games’ most popular battle royale has proved this fact a few times, which has made Black Ops 6 players anxious about the aftereffects of this latest update.

Call of Duty and Fortnite have been fighting hard for the top spot for a long time, and even this time, BO6 failed to beat this 2017 battle royale in popularity. Despite this latest COD game ranking high on the revenue charts, Fortnite is still the king when it comes to the most-played game

No matter how much these two games fight, it looks like, with this new update, BO6 is about to join Fortnite in one way: featuring overpowered sniper rifles. Fortnite often features different snipers, and they are mostly broken.

The insane damage these sniper rifles deal, especially the Heavy Sniper Rifles, is subject to concern in almost every season they have been added. Therefore, Epic Games vaults these every time to balance the gameplay.

With the headshot damage getting a significant buff in Black Ops 6, the situation may become the same in the game. While sniper rifles already have a great range, now if they get increased damage in headshots, they will surely become the deadliest weapons to take down an opponent in a single shot.

Competitive players won’t think twice before using them the most during every match with these buffs. In Black Ops 6, sniper rifles will surely become meta after the update comes and become overutilized, causing trouble for other players.

The situation may or may not be the same. But if this is the case, Treyarch has to follow Epic Games to vault these weapons or nerf the headshot damage to balance the gameplay.
