“It’s a $100 skin…”: The First Descendant Microtransactions are Out of Control, and Fans Still Focus on the Barely There Clothing of One Skin

Less than five days ago, Nexon officially launched The First Descendant, a cooperative PvE looter shooter that promises to rival games like Destiny 2. The studio released this title on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC.

However, some players have already expressed dissatisfaction with certain practices, particularly the inclusion of microtransactions. The game showcased skins that leave little to the imagination, similar to what Stellar Blade did, but in this case, players will have to pay up to $100 to obtain these skins.

The First Descendant Already Has Controversial Skin Prices

South Korean developer Nexon has just released a new game-as-a-service. The First Descendant is a third-person action looter shooter where players must work together to defeat various enemies and overcome each new mission. This particular title features a futuristic theme with a wide variety of abilities, offering dynamic and action-packed gameplay. The characters have a ton of different types of weapons.

It seems that one of the skins recently added to the game’s store has an astronomical value, and players are not pleased with this price. The Ultimate Bunny skin bears a striking resemblance to the EVE skin from Stellar Blade in terms of style.

This particular skin can fetch a value of nearly $100 for players who prefer not to earn the currency through gameplay. The community is not pleased with this.

Another Title Overcharges for Its Cosmetic Content

Social media, particularly X, went viral with this revelation, sharing a short clip that showcased the appearance of this specific skin and the various methods for obtaining it.

According to reports, fans can get it by grinding in the game, but this would take an eternity. Many users responded to the post, saying that this price is not right for a newly released game and makes no sense whatsoever.

One user even posted how long it would take a player to unlock this skin without spending money, and it seems it would take more than 36 hours of gameplay to obtain it.

Other users argue that this skin is not even worth it, as the character is not that interesting, and there are much better ones in the game overall. The reaction seems to be that players do not agree with the studio’s prices.

The First Descendant has been available since June 30, and the overall reaction seems to be quite positive. The title itself did not achieve very impressive numbers, but it has a fairly large community for a debut.

The studio has previously released another game, Warhaven, which unfortunately did not succeed. We will have to wait a few months to see if this title has what it takes to survive in such a competitive industry.

What are your thoughts on the price of this skin? Let us know in the comments!
