Respawn Should Take Inspiration From Fortnite and Introduce a Key Change in Apex Legends to Make Ranked Experience Better

Released in 2019, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is one of the most popular free-to-play battle royale games in the world right now. Thanks to its unique character-based gameplay and fast-paced action, it has managed to garner a large fanbase all over the world.

The game currently features eight permanent modes: Training, Firing Range, Battle Royale Trios and Duos, Ranked Leagues, and the Mixtape (Control, Gun Run, and Team Deathmatch). While all these game modes are exciting, the game lacks a dedicated Solo mode. It has been added in the past as a limited time mode and its popularity proves that Respawn should consider permanently bringing it to the game.

Apex Legends Is Not For Solo Queuers

Many Apex Legends players have complained that the game is just not ideal for solo queuers. Almost every battle royale game out there has a dedicated solo mode for players who prefer to be the lone wolf. Apex has no such mode and players who wish to play alone will be put in a squad full of random players.

Most solo players don’t have a mic and playing with a completely random team against squads with mics makes the entire experience quite difficult. In 90% of the scenarios, players match with randoms who don’t like to communicate at all and wander off somewhere alone. For every casual or competitive solo queue, Respawn Entertainment must introduce a dedicated solo mode, similar to what Epic Games has done for Fortnite.

Respawn Entertainment Has Experimented With The Idea

It’s not like Respawn is completely ignoring the community as it has tried to introduce a solo mode but only for a limited time. Developers are experimenting with the “no fill” feature, but that still doesn’t solve the problem as the game needs a mode that is solely for solo players.

The Solo mode was first introduced in Season 2’s Iron Crown Collection Event as a Limited Time Mode. It made a comeback twice earlier this year, leading to speculations that Respawn is analyzing players’ feedback. Despite the period being short, solo queuers had a great time playing the limited time event.

At the moment, Respawn has some bigger problems as one particular bug is ruining the ranked experience. After players get respawned by a teammate, the respawned player begins to experience severe lag until the next match. This annoying bug completely ruins the game as the player getting lagged can’t really do anything to contribute to the game. The studio has been making constant efforts to improve the game, in fact, EA recently announced that it has blocked Linux OS access to Apex Legends to get rid of hackers and cheaters.
