The developer of the Visible Companion Affinity mod for Fallout 4 has ported their popular project to Starfield. This release further expands the selection of high-quality Starfield mods that are available for download.
Although Visible Companion Affinity has long been touted as one of the best Fallout 4 romance mods, it's also extremely useful for players who have little interest in romancing the game's roster of characters, as it makes the process of building up relationships in order to unlock companion perks and quests much more transparent. Developed by Nexus Mods user CDante, the original version of the mod was released in March 2016, and has amassed over 825,000 downloads to date.
CDante has now ported that popular project to Bethesda's latest game in order to help players track their affinity with the space-faring RPG's core cast of characters. As was the case with the original version of the mod, Visible Companion Affinity for Starfield improves the game's affinity notifications by disclosing the exact change in a given companion's perception of the protagonist, which is expressed in percentages. All such notifications even reflect the character's current affinity level, which can also be checked at any time during dialogue.
Furthermore, Visible Companion Affinity supports granular settings that allow users to selectively hide the contents of its notifications. The options are incorporated into the Affinity Terminal, a weightless item that can be found in the player's inventory after the mod is installed. The terminal also contains a detailed log of the last 10 affinity events in the game. Although Starfield has over two dozen recruitable companions, only the four Constellation members that players can romance actually have affinity ratings that are trackable with the mod.
As is the case with many popular mods for Bethesda's latest title, Visible Companion Affinity requires the Plugins.txt Enabler mod, which itself depends on the Starfield Script Extender. And although SFSE is nominally only compatible with the Steam version of Starfield, PC Game Pass members can actually get Visible Companion Affinity to run by using it in conjunction with the SFSE ASI Loader mod created by Nexus Mods user doodlum, AKA doodlez.
Visible Companion Affinity for Starfield further adds to CDante's substantial modding portfolio. Specifically, the newly released mod is the developer's 32nd such project expanding one of Bethesda's games. CDante has so far been largely focused on Fallout 4, for which they have made 28 mods to date. Meanwhile, Visible Companion Affinity is their second-ever Starfield mod, having been preceded by the Starfield.exe Auto-Backup tool that helps manage different versions of the game's executable.
Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Starfield is a sci-fi action role-playing game where players interact with multiple factions, engage in combat, customize their main character and ship, as well as explore a universe that features over 100 systems and 1,000 planets.
