Diablo 4 Does Have PvP Areas but Blizzard Needs to Rework It to Make It Engaging

There’s no denying the fact that Diablo 4 was an absolute horror show from the start. Right on its arrival, the game was bashed by fans and critics alike. Even though its Vessel of Hatred expansion brought many new things to the table, it still didn’t fix many of the issues that players had.

Blizzard has tried its absolute best with various updates and patches to rework the many fundamental flaws of Diablo 4. However, it seems like the studio has missed out on reworking the game’s PvP areas as they still lack activity because they offer nothing worthwhile to grind and strive towards.

Diablo 4‘s PvP areas are in desperate need of changes

As a player’s powers grow in Diablo 4, so does the urge to prove one’s supremacy among the rest of Sanctuary’s chosen. For players who want to battle it out against the best, Diablo 4 brings PvP zones. These are designated areas on the map called “Fields of Hatred.”

In these regions, players can engage in combat with others in the game once they are “Bloodmarked.” There are two separate regions in the game where players can come across Fields of Hatred: Kehjistan and the Dry Steppes.

While Blizzard intended these areas to be the hub of all player-versus-player activity in the game, the problem is that no one bothers engaging with them. Diablo 4‘s PvP is already horribly balanced, and the fact that Fields of Hatred doesn’t offer much in terms of rewards and are difficult to battle through pushes players away.

Currently, Fields of Hatred offer multiple rewards, including Red Dust, a currency that is obtained by purifying Seeds of Hatred at Altars of Extraction. You can use this currency to obtain mounts, armor cosmetics, and trophies, but clearly, it’s not rewarding enough.

If Blizzard wants to appeal to the PvP community of Diablo 4, it must rework Fields of Hatred. The developers can make more high-value PvP gear, rare materials, and other items earnable. We can even see leaderboards that give seasonal rewards to players. The potential is unlimited with Fields of Hatred, and tuning them would make players flock to the game.

Diablo 4 players enjoy solo gameplay

One of the major reasons why we don’t see much PvP action is because Diablo 4 players enjoy their solo adventures much more, according to Blizzard.

When content creator AannacakeLIVE chatted with Diablo 4‘s designer, Aislyn Hall, and director Brent Gibson, an interesting detail surfaced that about 85% of all Diablo 4 players run the game solo.

According to the developers, Blizzard believes that the number of players engaging with the game’s multiplayer will grow over time. This will happen as younger audiences come across the title through Game Pass, as they’re used to playing with friends.

Blizzard introduced the Party Finder feature, and with even more things in the pipeline, the studio wants to give gamers a better way of connecting with others, creating parties, and participating in all the multiplayer activities the game offers.

With that said, do you think Fields of Hatred needs a rework in Diablo 4? Let us know in the comments below.
