“It’s really sweet you want to stand up for Palworld”: Community Manager Bucky Speaks Out and Pleads for Fans to Ignore the Trolls

When Pocketpair’s Palworld debuted in Early Access back in January, gamers were drawn to its Pokemon-like creatures dubbed Pals and how they were used for food and as soldiers. The game established itself as the second-most-played title concurrently on Valve’s Steam. Unfortunately, those high player numbers kept decreasing as people completed the available content.

With the debut of its Sakurajima update on June 27, Palworld‘s player count has surged right back up. While it’s still behind the record peak, those daily numbers are heading into six figures. Amidst all that, Palworld‘s community manager has made a statement appreciating players and encouraging them not to engage with trolls.

With the release of the latest update, Palworld‘s concurrent player count currently sits at just over 128,000 people. While that number doesn’t match the 2 million count when it was initially released, that’s still a lot. Palworld‘s player numbers prompted an online debate about whether the game was dead or not.

However, Palworld‘s community manager, Bucky, stepped in and addressed the debate surrounding the title’s player number after the Sakurajima update.

While acknowledging the community’s passion and love for defending Palworld, Bucky mentions how these discussions are nothing more than “engagement bait .”He reassures players that these fluctuations are normal.

In most modern games, the onset of a new update, or season, leads to a surge in player count. This pattern is consistent and relevant for Palworld, where finishing the new content in an update can be quite easy due to the game’s custom settings.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that Palworld still has yet to officially launch. If the developers keep adding substantial content updates on a regular basis, then the player interest in this game will never wane.

What’s New in Palworld?

There’s no doubt that the biggest addition to Palworld is the brand-new island dubbed Sakurajima. It is here where a giant tower protected by an enemy faction called “The Moonflowers” can be found. The island is also home to a new set of Pals that players can capture and use on their base.

Alongside Sakurajima Island, Pocketpair has finally added the much-anticipated PvP arena for those who want to pit their Pals against other players. We also have a new Oil Rig stronghold controlled by the Rayne Syndicate, which allows friends to team up to take it over.

That’s not all! The latest update has also increased the level cap to 55 and added new resources, weapons, cosmetics, a Tower Boss Hard Mode, and, the best thing, a new Blazamut Ryu raid boss. There are a lot of new things in Palworld.
