Arcane wrapped up its second and final season this past weekend. No, I have not recovered, but I do plan on immediately rewatching the first season to try and catch all of the foreshadowing. In fact, because I plan on watching this masterpiece on repeat for the rest of my life, it was a no-brainer for me to grab the first season on Blu-ray.
I have no regrets about making that purchase at full price, but if you were waiting for discounts to further justify the decision to buy, now's your chance. Amazon has a bunch of Blu-ray deals as part of its Black Friday sale, including dropping Season 1 of Arcane to its lowest price yet.
Arcane was produced by Fortiche and is available to stream exclusively on Netflix. It's actually one of the few Netflix exclusives to get a physical release, with this Blu-ray DVD and two limited edition steelbooks that launched earlier this year.
The Arcane Season 1 Blu-ray is now available for its lowest price since release at a 28% discount. Unfortunately, the 4K steelbook (featuring Jinx on the cover) sold out, but the Blu-ray steelbook (featuring Vi on the cover) is still available, though at full price. While nothing has been announced yet, I imagine Season 2 will get its own physical release in the near future.
Read Rafael Motamayor's full 10/10 review of Arcane Season 1, or check out his reviews of Season 2 Act 1 + Act 2 and Act 3. If you're not afraid of spoilers, IGN also sat down with showrunner Christian Linke to break down Arcane's final episodes.
Arcane is based on League of Legends lore, and specifically centers on Jinx, Vi, and other champions based in the regions of Piltover and Zaun. Season 2 concludes the story of Arcane, but it was recently revealed that three more League of Legends shows are in development. Future stories will feature new champions and take place in Noxus, Demacia, and Ionia.
Whether it’s because of Black Friday or the end of the show, this Blu-ray isn’t the only Arcane-related deal going on right now. The official artbook for the show, The Art and Making of Arcane, is discounted as a preorder set to release December 3. The novel companion for Ambessa, who was recently added as a League champion after first appearing in the show, is also available to preorder at a discount. And if you want to help yourself or another League player afford all those new Arcane skins: $50 and $100 League gift cards are 5% off on Amazon, though keep in mind they’ll only work when redeemed on NA servers.
