Fans are concerned over the recent reports regarding GTA 6. Rockstar seems to be propagating for the minority by consciously going easy on them to make the game feel more inclusive. Fans are concerned that this might detract from the essence of a GTA game, which stood as a symbol for making a fool out of everyone equally, without discrimination.
Fans are even threatening to boycott the game due to recent reports concerning its writer’s room. Mockery is an integral part of the game’s universe, similar to South Park. People are not ready to accept a game that is nothing but a shell of its former glory.
According to a recent report via Bloomberg, Rockstar has asked its writers to be ‘less crude’ towards transgender people and other minorities, which goes against the core of the game.
Being inclusive and respectful towards everyone is an important aspect of life. However, when it comes to art or entertainment, via storytelling to be specific, it is important to do justice to the world your story is set in. Similarly, GTA’s crime-laden world does not establish grounds for going easy on anyone.
After hearing about this recent report, fans are on the verge of boycotting the game. They feel that GTA 6 is not doing justice to its world but rather falling into the shambles of societal pressure. The game is still under development and constantly evolving, which might result in a push in its release date.
Endymion was right, Rockstar asked their writers to dial back GTA 6.

You're going to have to very carefully and nicely beat someone to death with a tire iron while making sure you respect they/them's gender.

Having said that, this recent report should be taken with a pinch of salt since the extent to which this current change is being implemented is still not clear and Rockstar seems to be silent on the matter as usual.
In these ever-changing times, developers are required to adapt to the norms floating around in society; otherwise, the content they put out is considered obsolete and disrespectful to many.
It is great to be respectful towards every individual from every community, irrespective of their way of life. However, when one’s dealing with a niche world, one needs to do justice to its universe, or else the honesty of the world fails to build a connection with the audience.
If the reports about Rockstar changing the game based on the claims, then the game may be going through a dark path for some. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
