Kojima's Bizarre PS5 Death Stranding 2 Trailer Gets the Meme Treatment

Another weird little guy to obsess over.

At yesterday's State of Play showcase, Hideo Kojima unveiled new gameplay for and officially confirmed the title of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. As was the case with the original Death Stranding, it watches like a fever dream, dredged from the deepest recesses of Kojima's imagination. According to the auteur creator, approximately 70% of his body is made of movies, which he references frequently in his own creations.

The internet reacted positively, enthusiastically churning out memes for all of us to enjoy, consolation after Bloodborne was, again, a no-show. From spooky details to cool musical cues, the most dedicated fans have unearthed some truly intriguing tidbits. But it's the bizarre little stop-motion puppet (known as "the living doll") that appears to have stolen the internet's collective heart, a strange little dude sure to stir the heartstrings of even the most jaded Kojima adherents, reminding some of Alan Wake 2 protagonist, Alan Wake.
