GTA 6 Pre-Order Revenue Expected to Cross $1 Billion – Report

Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated release, Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), has created a massive buzz among fans. Although an official GTA 6 pre-order date is yet to be announced as of January 3, 2025, experts predict record-breaking revenue from pre-orders alone.

According to a report by Financial Times, analysts at DFC Intelligence project that GTA 6 pre-orders could generate over $1 billion in revenue. Given the excitement surrounding the title, such figures appear achievable, especially when considering the commercial success of its predecessor, GTA 5.

GTA 6’s Expected Sales Figures

GTA 5 earned $1 billion within three days of its release in 2013, making it one of the most successful games ever. Analysts believe GTA 6 could replicate or even surpass this milestone.

Additionally, DFC Intelligence estimates that GTA 6’s sales could generate $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year after launch.

GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms

GTA 6 Trailer 2

As per Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, GTA 6 is scheduled for a Fall 2025 release. However, concerns about a potential delay to 2026 have surfaced among fans due to the lack of updates since the first trailer dropped in December 2023.

Despite these uncertainties, analysts expect more updates soon. This may include new trailers, screenshots, or pre-order details, possibly around Take-Two’s next earnings call in February 2025.

Availability on Consoles and PC

GTA 6 will initially launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. While a PC version has not been officially confirmed, it is expected to follow later, consistent with the release patterns of previous titles in the franchise.

With a projected $1 billion in pre-order revenue and $3.2 billion in first-year sales, GTA 6 is poised to be a monumental success. Fans eagerly await updates on pre-order dates and gameplay details, as excitement continues to build toward the Fall 2025 release.
