Fans have been enjoying HoYoverse's free-to-play RPG Genshin Impact since the moment of its release. It was reported that the game had already brought a lot of money in revenue, allowing the developer to recoup its development costs. While money seems to be the primary form of investment one could make in Genshin Impact, others have found that time is an equally large investment.
Whether they've been spending time, money, or a combination of both, it's likely that players have reached a point where they are attempting to Ascend all of their characters. However, this is proving more difficult than expected for players who have acquired characters who require Jueyun Chilis. That’s because it’s a bit hard to find the material. One of the factors that make the Jueyun Chili so difficult to locate is that, unlike a Damaged Mask or Divining Scroll, the Chilis don't drop when enemies are slain. Rather, Genshin Impact players must search for them in the wild growing off of bushes. Thankfully, there are a few areas that are rife with the tantalizing Chilis needed to Ascend characters.
Updated on November 30, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Similarly to Silk Flower and Valberry in Genshin Impact, Jueyun Chili also grows on bushes that produce more than one material. This is fortunate for players as they can collect three Chilis from the same bush, which simplifies the collecting process. Jueyun Chilis is one of Liyue Ascension materials that are required to boost certain characters, like fans' beloved chef, Xiangling, and the adorable Yaoyao. This material is also used in plenty of dishes, so hoarding them isn't a very bad idea. Here are the available Jueyun Chili locations in Genshin Impact for players who are seeking the ingredients.
There are several locations in Liyue that contain Jueyun Chili, like Qingce Village, Jueyun Karst, and Stone Gate.
Although the Jueyun Chilis may be tough to find, the material's description gives a good place to get started: Qingce Village in Liyue. By teleporting to the waypoint in the area and following the path through Qingce Village, players should be able to find an ample amount of Chilis to help Ascend their desired character.
The other place players will likely want to take advantage of is Jueyun Karst. By teleporting to the Statue of the Seven near Qingyun Peak and gliding down, players will discover Jueyun Chilis all around the area.
Additionally, between Nantianmen's teleport waypoint and Tianqiu Valley's, there are two Jueyun Chili plants on the cliff around the ruins.
Initially, reaching the Jueyun Chilis at Stone Gate was quite a hassle, but thanks to the existence of Ridge Watch Domain, the area can now be accessed easily. This domain is the one where people can get Tenacity of the Millelith and Pale Flame artifacts, the best-in-slot items for Genshin Impact Zhongli and Eula, respectively. The Chili bushes are all sitting on the cliff, so make sure not to drop to the lower ground while walking there.
Chef Mao, who can be found at Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue Harbor, has a decent stock of Jueyun Chilis. Ironically, he is Xiangling’s father and the Pyro character is one of the few who requires this Ascension material in Genshin Impact. Chef Mao has five Chilis that he restocks every three days. Additionally, Travelers can always buy Jueyun Chili Seeds from Serenitea Pot via Tubby for extra materials.
Although Jueyun Chilis is an Ascension material, there are a lot of recipes that require this local specialty:
