LEGO Fortnite: How to Get Planks

Fortnite and LEGO have teamed up to bring a new gaming experience into the battle royale game dubbed LEGO Fortnite. It's a game mode that Minecraft fans may be familiar with, as players will get to play as a LEGO character in a sandbox survival mode with lots of crafting. Gathering some of the materials needed to progress might cause a headache due to the number of items. This guide will help if you're having trouble locating Planks, which can be used to craft things like a Log Lookout.

How to Get Planks in LEGO Fortnite

To get right to it, you'll need to make a Lumber Mill before getting Planks, which can be found under the Utility section of the Build menu. Once crafted, the Lumber Mill can be used to build objects like Planks and Rods. The recipe requires eight pieces of Wood and 15 pieces of Granite:

  • Wood can be picked up off the ground in the Grasslands.
  • Granite can be obtained by picking up the gray rocks lying around in the Grasslands.
  • Both crafting materials should be easy to find around your starting area in LEGO Fortnite.

You don't need any special tools to pick up Granite and Wood --simply walk over the item and press the button that appears on-screen.

Once the Lumber Mill is built, approach it and press the corresponding button. You'll see three recipes: one for Plank, one for Wooden Rod, and one for Flexwood Rod.

You'll need a piece of wood to make Planks using the machine. Each piece will be converted into a Plank. Players can even drop the pieces of Wood off, let the machine do its thing for a few seconds, and return to pick up the fresh Planks. Make sure not to lose all your health fighting against a tough monster, as that will make you lose all your acquired items. Luckily, you can find your backpack in the same spot you lost it and retrieve the dropped materials and items.

Building a Log Lookout is a good call for anyone looking for a safe spot to keep an eye on unsuspecting monsters and other baddies.
