Jujutsu Kaisen’s massive popularity has earned it several nominations at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. But more than bagging the prestigious award, fans are excited about what is going to happen in the manga. After Hiromi Higuruma’s death, the manga has begun its endgame. Yuji Itadori was constantly trying to overpower Ryomen Sukuna but was failing every time.
The latest chapter saw Rika Orimoto and Yuta Okkotsu join the fight. Itadori’s last-ditch effort to end Sukuna with the Executioner’s Sword failed. But fans are speculating that Yuji Itadori might soon unleash his full potential. His innate technique could even surpass that of Yuta Okkotsu and become a trump card in destroying Ryomen Sukuna forever.
For the past few chapters, Yuji Itadori has been constantly trying to kill Ryomen Sukuna, but he is getting overpowered every time. After Higuruma’s death, fans thought Itadori might finally use his innate technique. Unfortunately, that, too did not happen. Now, the fans are speculating that Gege Akutami has planned something big for the protagonist.
Yuji Itadori might have the ability to swap souls. It means that he could enter another Jujutsu sorcerer’s body and learn all the techniques known by that individual. It was first hinted at during Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 221 when Itadori was training with Kusakabe. While people thought the latter would dominate the former, the opposite happened.
SOUL SWAP AND RCT

Interesting theory is that Yuji is doing Soul swaps with some members of the group in order to learn techniques.
In 221 Kusakabe says “get a handle on this” maybe referring to new shadow style.

After that, something unusual caught their eyes. Itadori was seen to address Kusakabe as ‘Itadori,’ and it gave rise to the suspicion that Itadori might be able to swap souls. Spoilers for the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen chapter also mentioned that Yuji Itadori might have learned the Reversed Cursed Technique after swapping bodies with Shoko.
Swapping souls is a huge advantage and is a greater power than Yuta Okkotsu’s Copying Ability and surpasses Aoi Todo’s Boogie Woogie. Itadori might have also learned something from Sukuna. Changes in his arm also indicate that he might have swapped souls with Choso, a Cursed Womb Death Paintings. Sukuna always hated Itadori, and his innate technique might be a big reason for that.
Jujutsu Kaisen season one episode six featured a funny scene between Satoru Gojo and Yuji Itadori. Satoru Gojo was secretly training him, and he was excited to learn a new technique. Itadori broke the fourth wall and mentioned learning Rei-Gun, Rasengan, Bankai, and Kamehameha, which are references to other anime.
Satoru Gojo said he would be able to do none of those yet. He spoke the ‘yet’ softly. It was a hint that Yuji could use all those abilities through his soul-swapping technique. Moreover, Gojo also mentioned that being Sukuna’s vessel, he would also learn his abilities. With Jujutsu Kaisen nearing its end, it won’t be surprising to see Yuji Itadori getting a massive power-up.
But it could also mean that Gege Akutami is planning Yuta Okkotsu’s death in a manner that would let Sukuna absorb the Queen of Curses. It will be interesting to see Yuji Itadori doing justice to his protagonist role. Gege Akutami might plan a Ryomen Sukuna vs. Yuji Itadori battle when both of them are at their peak.
