Elden Ring composer: The music of The Legend of Zelda inspired me a lot

According to foreign media gameranx, in a new interview with Polygon, Yuka Kitamura, the composer of "Elden Ring", expressed some of his own insights on his creative inspiration and musical style, and said that the music of "The Legend of Zelda" had a great influence on him.

Composing for a large-scale game like Elden Ring is not an easy task, but Kitamura's work has resonated with countless players. "I spent my childhood and growing up in video games in the 90s and 00s, and there are many game masterpieces that have influenced me. I had a wish at that time, which was to play the theme song of my favorite game, The Legend of Zelda, on the piano. This wish prompted me to learn piano in my childhood. I also played the music of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for a long time. I like the game worldview that is deeply connected to the instrument." Kitamura said.

In addition, Kitamura is also deeply influenced by game series such as Story of Seasons, Pokémon, and Golden Sun. "I think game music is sometimes a kind of music with a small number of notes and bars, which is very expressive. This music can immediately catch my heart, which is why I dream of becoming a game composer." Kitamura added.
