Jujutsu Kaisen might be completed, and all the characters might have seemed to come to a full circle, but author Chugong of Solo Leveling web novel throws a wrench in Jujutsu Kaisen fans’ plans to rest for a while.
The confirmation of Igris’ human origins by the Solo Leveling author has somehow managed to spark a whirlwind of discussions and wild theories across fan communities of both the anime series.
The author has revealed surprising details about the human life of Igris, one of the key supporters of Jinwoo on his path to becoming a Shadow Monarch. This work not only expands the lore but connects it with one of the most popular characters in the anime world in recent times- Gojo Satoru. Let us delve in and see how this has come to be.
Known as one of Sung Jinwoo’s most loyal and stoic shadow knights, Igris has always stood out, be it in the web novel, the manhwa, or the anime; Igris’s noble demeanor and life-like actions have managed to steal the hearts of the fans without much effort.
Unlike the talkative and ever-cheerful persona that is Gojo Satoru, Igris is more composed and mature, like Gojo was in his days of constant combat and protecting the students of the Academy.

This revelation transforms him from a mere shadow in the eyes of the fans of Solo Leveling to a character with a layered backstory. This has further prompted the fans to wonder: Who was Igris really before becoming Jinwoo’s knight?
Chugong has a few traits that seem extremely similar to Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, he has silver hair and is an arrogant but handsome man. Well, Satoru checks all the boxes, and this may be Chugong’s way of creating a better end for Gojo than was allowed for in the original work.
The two anime of Solo Leveling and Jujutsu Kaisen can be seen to be particularly connected by the parallels drawn between Igris and Gojo Satoru.
After Chugong, the author confirmed the characteristics of Igris’ human form are unique and seem to be tailored from Gojo Satoru—tall, imposing, and with piercing blue eyes.

It’s not hard to see why comparisons arise and how this has caused there to be a lot of hue and cry among the fanbases of both series.
This would be a meeting of both worlds of anime which each have the similar powers of curses and shadows.
You can stream Solo Leveling and Jujutsu Kaisen on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
