“Remedy shot themselves in the foot”: Alan Wake 2 isn’t Profitable Because of One Stupid Move Despite Fans Worshipping the Game

Alan Wake 2 is a widely celebrated game that managed to get a lot of acclaim from fans and critics. The game is the latest addition to the Alan Wake franchise and does justice to its long legacy.

However, the game is still not as profitable as it should be given the mass appeal of it. The game deserves more exposure and needs to be made available on many platforms.

Alan Wake 2 Fails To Generate Profits Despite Being A Good Game

The biggest reason for Alan Wake 2 being unable to generate profits is largely to do with it being exclusive to the Epic Games store. The game is currently priced at $50, which is quite less for a game of this high standard. On top of the low price tag, the game can only be purchased via the Epic Games store, which has ultimately led to lesser sales.

Remedy needs to make amends and act fast if it wants to retain the market. The game should be made available on Steam as well since it is the preferred platform by many players throughout the world. However, it might be easier said than done.

Epic had invested in Alan Wake 2, and along the line, it might have struck a deal with Remedy to make the game exclusive to the Epic Games store only, which would ultimately benefit the platform. The Epic should be given due credit for lending a helping hand to remedy when it needed it the most. However, this still does not justify the game’s falling sales.

People do not prefer to buy games from the Epic Games store since they hate the idea of being tied to more DRM. Steam tops the chart for being the widely used platform for buying and storing games. Steam is also better optimised than Epic in many ways.

Remedy needs to do something if it makes to flesh out profits from the game. People are mad about Alan Wake 2. Everybody who has played the game knows that it is a brilliant game with great gameplay design and engaging narrative structure, making it one of the best games of 2023.

It has already been a year since the game was released, and it should already be topping charts in sales given the mass appeal of the game, but due to the low price tag of $50 and it being made unavailable for purchase on Steam, the game seems to be suffering a lot.

Most games in recent times have been priced at $70, but Remedy can’t increase the price of the game now; that train has long left the station. However, it should come up with some plan to increase the game’s sales and save its sinking ship. What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
