It seems like Ubisoft has been inspired by Call of Duty. Several sources have reported on Ubisoft’s new Ghost Recon project, which makes the franchise go back to a first-person shooter perspective while maintaining the tactical elements. According to the sources, it will be set in an invented country with war crimes and conflicts.

Apparently, Ubisoft is looking to get controversial and wants a mission like “No Russian” from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The reports are aiming that this Ghost Recon will have a mission with a baby in the center of it, which will be a hard choice for a soldier.

One of the oldest Ubisoft franchises is Ghost Recon. This franchise is always looking for new ways to reinvent itself for new audiences. Fans and critics did not enjoy the last few installments of the saga because of some contentious choices made regarding the country setting that did not respect the culture’s origins. Apart from being a very respected franchise, it is not so popular among players in general and is mainly for a few fans.

Ubisoft is preparing a new Ghost Recon game with a controversial mission.

Insider Gaming’s Tom Herdenson said that he has trustworthy sources about the new game from Ubisoft. This title will apparently come out sometime in 2025 or 2026. The setting for this game will be the fictional Naiman War, where several war crimes happen regarding the use of minors and other very shady things to deliver bombs. This new title will be the return of the franchise to a first-person shooter experience like the first games.

The source is saying that Ubisoft wants an experience closer to CoD: MW or Battlefield. Ubisoft is looking to add a mission similar to the “No Russian” mission from the original MW2. In Ghost Recon, there is apparently a mission that you have to choose if you shoot a man with a baby or not, because this baby could be a bomb.

There will be a very strong narrative in the game.

This new title will have great graphics compared to previous entries in the franchise, but there is no information about the engine decided for the game.
