After two new agents joined Valorant’s roster in 2024, a new agent, who reportedly hails from Colombia, will be added to the game very soon. The first look at the agent was released by Riot Games and it’s safe to say that it has created a lot of anticipation among the community. Some rumors claim that the new agent is an initiator. Unfortunately, there is no still information about the agent’s abilities.
Valorant has some strong initiator agents so it’s clear why players have such huge expectations from this new agent. Many players are hoping that this new agent could fulfill the role of two agents as many agents in the past were capable of doing so, in fact, Breach, an initiator agent, was used as a duelist as well as an initiator at one point. Unfortunately, the agent was nerfed to the ground as Riot Games wanted everyone to use Breach as an initiator only.
A teaser has been dropped on Riot Games’ official YouTube account showcasing a brand new agent. ValorLeaks on X has shared some more information about the agent, claiming that the agent is an Initiator from Colombia. This is the first Initiator coming to Valorant since Gekko, who was released in March 2023. The reputed leaker has also added that he is a “pretty cool” agent overall.
The teaser has created a lot of anticipation among the fans. As for the release, there are speculations that the agent will released during Episode 10 Act 1. The Episode 9 Act 3’s battle pass ends in roughly 30 days, so players should expect this agent to come out around January 9th or 10th. These are just speculations as Riot Games hasn’t released more information about the character yet.
In the past, Initiator agents like Breach were capable of covering two roles. Players were able to switch the play as his kit allowed players to play as a duelist or initiator. The community hopes that Riot Games does the same with this new agent as this gameplay will enable players to come up with better strategies.
Breach was nerfed by Riot as an attempt to balance the gameplay, however, it’s clear that Riot nerfs agents like these to create more agents. Many popular agents were nerfed this year in an attempt to make the game fair for everyone. It is no secret that the studio prioritizes competitive players over casual players, so it all depends on how players respond to agents in ranked matches. Let’s hope that the new agent doesn’t disappoint as it has been a while since players have got a good initiator.
