Riot Games has dropped a trailer for a brand new skin bundle on its social media accounts. The skin bundle is certainly exciting but it is not something that players have been expecting. Cosmetic items are great, but Riot Games must also start focusing on features that improve gameplay. Valorant has been out for more than four years now but it still lacks a replay system.
Riot Games has confirmed that Valorant will move from Unreal Engine 4 to 5, which will allow them to get more out of the newer game engine. A replay system is very crucial for a game like Valorant as it allows players to come up with better strategies and lineups.
Riot Games has dropped the trailer for another unique weapon skin bundle called Araxys 2.0. The Araxys bundle has remained a fan-favorite for quite some time now, but the 2.0 introduces a brand new style that fans just can’t get enough of. The bundle will include skins for Phantom, Guardian, Sheriff, Outlaw, and special Melee Blades. On its official website, Riot Games has revealed what players can expect from the 9.11 patch. Some major changes will be made to the ping system, Neon and Vyse.
As for the release date, the bundle will be released on December 13, 2024, but players will be able to preview the skins as soon as patch 9.11 hits the game on December 10th. It is unclear about the cost of the bundle but there is some speculation: Full Bundle : 8,700 VP, Individual Weapon Skins: 2,175 VP each, and Knife Skin: 4,350 VP.
Weapon skins are a great way to show off on the battlefield but it does not provide any aid. It’s about time Riot Games starts adding some gameplay elements that help players improve their games. The community has been asking for a replay system for a long time now but it remains one of the much-requested additions that Riot has been ignoring. In fact, the comment section of Valorant’s trailer for Araxys 2.0 is filled with questions about the replay system.
Earlier this year, Marcus Reid, Valorant Tech Lead, revealed in a Dev Update video that Riot Games has been working on a replay system. In the video, the studio showcased a prototype build for the replay system, however, it is nowhere near launch. Reid talked about a few challenges that the studio is facing while developing the system as replays add new requirements that aren’t present in normal matches.
The weapon skins are indeed a nice way to keep players hooked but the replay system is something that will improve the overall gaming experience. The replay system should be Riot’s priority as it can certainly boost players’ performance as the replay system can be used to analyze matches.
