After unveiling Grand Theft Auto 6 over a year ago and remaining silent since, a small leak from Rockstar’s offices was posted on Reddit.
Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement trailer over a year ago, followed by nothing but silence as the fans became more eager to learn about the game as it was revealed it would be released in Fall 2025. With no new updates or trailers revealed about the game, it’s understandable that the fans have become impatient as it has been a year with no new information, until now.
A Reddit user named JustLovett0 shared an image of the game, reportedly taken in 2021 by someone close to them who worked at Rockstar, with the caption: “I think it’s been long enough I can post this.”
The post was quickly removed from the Grand Theft Auto 6 subreddit, with users debating the legitimacy of the leak. While the image has been reposted across the internet, it doesn’t reveal much. It shows the game running on a PS5 dev kit, along with two one-second-long videos showcasing Xbox dev kits in an office setting, but no gameplay footage. As leaks go, it provides little for fans to get excited about.
Although the leak doesn’t show much, Rockstar recently reuploaded the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer on the Chinese social media platform BiliBili. What makes this reupload notable is that it’s a higher-resolution version, revealing subtle details not visible in the YouTube release, such as characters with acne, sand textures, stretch marks on NPCs, and arm hair on one of the main protagonists, Lucia.
Overall, this is a small leak, with just one image showing Grand Theft Auto 6 running on PS5 dev kits. Fans likely won’t have to wait too long for more updates, as the game is set to launch in Fall 2025 and will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
