Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is, without a doubt, one of the most highly anticipated games of 2024. With so much hype building up, Activision has decided to let athletes try out the game roughly 3 months before the final release.
Anthony Edwards, who made his Olympic debut in Paris as a part of Team USA, recently revealed on his social media account that he was lucky enough to try out Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 early in Paris.
Professional Basketball player Anthony Edwards shared a story on his Instagram where he can be seen playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 roughly 2 months before its release.
It seems like Activision is approaching athletes at the Paris Olympics 2024 to promote the video game by letting them try it out early. Edwards is one of the lucky ones to try out the game roughly one month before the Open Beta Early Access.
This may seem rather odd for Activision to do this, but with eSports becoming a part of the Olympics in the future, it would make sense for the gaming industry to take its first steps onto the Olympic stage. and it was clearly a smart choice on behalf of Activision, as it has brought plenty of attention to the title.
Last month, it was revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Open Beta will begin in late August but only for gamers who have pre-ordered the game or have the Xbox Game Pass.
Activision will also let everyone else try out the game but one week after the end of Early Access. The Early Access will begin on Friday, August 30th at 10 AM PT, and end on Wednesday, September 4th at 10 AM PT while the Open Beta will begin on Friday, September 6 at 10 AM PT, and will end on Monday, September 9 at 10 AM PT on all platforms.
The gaming community is extremely excited about the game and some even expect Black Ops 6 to revive the Call of Duty franchise. The storyline, in particular, has left everyone hyped.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is all set to be released on October 25, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and it will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on day one.
