Sandberg Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro – Hardware Review
Sandberg Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro – Hardware ReviewEven though some hardcore gamers may disagree, our bodies weren’t designed to sit behind a desk all day using a mouse and keyboard. Due to this, some people experience wrist pains and it often becomes a struggle to get through the day. Luckily, bright minds are always out there looking for solutions, and thanks to this, we have seen a lot of new ergonomic-shaped mice that are often used in office-like settings. For today’s review, we took a closer look at Sandberg’s Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro, which is one of those ergonomic-shaped mice.         Design We might be a bit biased when we say that we usually don’t think office-oriented hardware looks good. This is obviously because we have been spoiled with a lot of interesting and flashy designs for our gaming peripheral reviews. The Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro, however, looks quite classy, and the inclusion of the LED light that illuminates the circumference of the glossy top surface looks quite spiffy. The mouse itself has the aforementioned LED light and the illuminated Sandberg logo that truly stand out. Other than the glossy top, the rest of the mouse has a matte black finish, except for some of the buttons which also have a glossy finish. The detachable wrist-rest also has a fairly subtle design, perfectly complementing the mouse itself. Comfort The Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro is designed for optimal user comfort. You’ll have to hold the mouse from a 75-degree angle, meaning you can hold it in a more natural position compared to traditional mice. It somewhat feels like stirring a pot when you first start using the mouse, but it will become second nature after spending a bit of time doing general tasks, browsing the web, and even playing certain games. Sandberg’s mouse also comes with a few additional buttons that you can easily access with your thumb. This makes the device more versatile, and depending on what software you use the mouse with, you may be able to bind a few interesting functions to the additional buttons. The Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro comes with a detachable wrist-rest that adds another layer of comfort for those who might need a bit of additional support. The soft matte coating of the mouse is very pleasant to the touch, but it’s also quite hard to keep clean. It’s hard to remove smudges and staining from the surface, and it will require regular upkeep to remain in pristine condition. An honorable mention goes to the small slot at the bottom side of the mouse to store the USB dongle. Specs 2.4 GHz GFSK technology Working distance: Up to 10 metres 6 buttons Wireless optical 800 / 1200 / 1800 / 2600/ 3400 DPI Scroll wheel Built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery Built-in white LED light 75° vertical angle Overview The Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro is a simple plug-and-play device, meaning you just need to plug in the USB dongle, turn on the mouse, and you’re good to go. The on/off switch is on the bottom side of the mouse, and we do appreciate having an actual switch as this does help to preserve battery life. There is no additional software required, as the DPI profiles are preprogrammed. The box also includes a USB to USB-C cable to charge the mouse’s battery. Truth be told, there isn’t that much to say when it comes to general features that we haven’t discussed above. You’ll have the DPI profiles, which allow you to fine-tune the experience to your liking. The range of DPI profiles suffices for an office setting, but also for those who would like to try playing games with this ergonomic mouse. Of course, the device itself isn’t designed with gamers in mind, but we managed to do just fine in most games. We did have to get used to the overall experience with the mouse, and we slightly struggled with precision-based tasks at the very beginning. Of course, after a few days of working with the Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro, we could easily perform our regular tasks. Conclusion Sandberg’s Wireless Vertical Mouse Pro is a great ergonomic mouse that will alleviate the stress from your wrist. You’ll be treated to an extremely affordable yet valuable tool for your daily work, while also getting a few additional comfort features such as different DPI profiles, a few additional buttons, and a detachable wrist-rest. All in all, you’re getting a lot of value for a low price, and we can easily suggest looking into this one if you’re suffering from wrist pain after a long day’s work.
