Mounts are one of the ways players love to use to customize their appearance and show their unique style in Final Fantasy 14. Most of them are shaped as animals and creatures from Eorzea, but some others are more peculiar. The Demi-Ozma mount is one of them. It features a floating and ever-changing circle the Warrior of Light can sit on. Players can be easily noticed when using it, because of its bright and changing colors. It makes it one of the most-coveted mounts in the game, but it also requires a lot of time and effort on the player's part. Here is a guide to get players on the right track to unlock it.
The Demi-Ozma mount is a reward for completing the Achievement named “We're on Your Side I.” It’s obtained by clearing the Baldesion Arsenal for the first time.
This is no small feat, however. The Baldesion Arsenal is the last fight of Eureka, a separate leveling system introduced in the Stormblood expansion. It was initially linked to the expansion’s Relic Weapons, but it features a lot more rewards, including the Demi-Ozma mount.
Players need to complete the whole area to get the Demi-Ozma mount. In addition, the Baldesion Arsenal fight itself is complex to complete. It requires a preset party of over 30 players, as well as a strong knowledge of the fight’s mechanics from every player. The Eureka areas feature significant gameplay changes.
Here is how to unlock and complete Baldesion Arsenal.
Baldesion Arsenal is the last fight that can be unlocked in the Eureka areas. First, players need to reach at least level 70 in combat and complete the main scenario questline of Stormblood to pick up the first quest of the story named “The Forbidden Land.”
Each quest corresponds to one level of Eureka. It includes four levels in total, where players need to explore, complete quests and get to the maximum level to progress through the next one. Here is the list of the quests for each area:
The Eureka areas can all be accessed by speaking to Rodney, the Expedition Ferryman, in Kugane, near the Pier #1 Aetheryte. It takes quite some time to complete each of those areas. The more populated an area is, the more bosses and bonuses the players will get. It’s recommended to party up to fasten the process and make it more enjoyable, through the Duty Finder or dedicated online communities. There’s always some sort of activity around these areas, whether it’s for the Demi-Ozma mount unlock or for Relic Weapon farming.
Baldesion Arsenal can be entered in Hydatos. Players can see it randomly appear in Hydatos as a FATE. It will likely rarely happen, though, because some precise steps must be followed to trigger its appearance.
In addition, it requires an Elemental Level of 60 to enter it, which means players have to farm in this area to reach this level first. When requirements are met, there still are more steps to follow to enter the fight. It’s a very specific process, and clearing it requires some training due to specific gameplay features exclusive to this FF14 fight.
Baldesion Arsenal is an extremely challenging fight to complete, but with adequate knowledge and teamplay, players can clear it in one try. When entering the fight, they’ll be prompted with a warning that indicates that they’re heading into “an unimaginably punishing duty.” There are several restrictions that make it more challenging, such as a Resurrect cap. Even though it’s open content, players will usually join it only after teaming up with dedicated players and agreeing about their role in the duty. The fight requires a party of 48 players to be completed. This is unlike any other duty in the game, so players need to self-organize. Groups can be created in the Duty Finder, but several communities dedicated to the completion of Baldesion Arsenal can also be found on Reddit and Discord.
The Baldesion Arsenal FATE will appear after players clear the other FATE named “I Don’t Want to Believe.” The fight appears randomly, so players might have to farm or jump from area to area to see it appear. A few conditions have also to be met:
When players defeat the boss, the Baldesion Arsenal FATE will appear. After a few minutes, players will see 48 portals appear on the minimap. They can welcome one player each, which corresponds to the size of the team in the fight. Then, the group will head into the duty. Usually, the dedicated community groups include guides to follow, outlining that players need to gear up on Lost Actions and abilities before heading into the dungeon. Those actions can be bought like other items in the Market Board.
Completing Baldesion Arsenal requires strong teamplay, so players will follow their leader throughout the whole fight and will take specific Lost Actions that will be useful for everyone in the group. It’s also a long duty, so players have to make sure they can play for around an hour. Once the players have reached the end of it and defeated the last boss, they’ll earn the FF14 “We're on Your Side I” achievement. They can open the Achievement tab and click on it to receive their reward, the Demi-Ozma mount.
