This is a Bone Spirit build focused on charging up the Necromancer's Essence then unleashing a fully charge Bone Spirit against Mob Groups and even bosses for a one-shotting build! We focus on using Bone Spirit as our main offensive tool which is mainly why we have no core skill for this current build.
The playstyle involves grouping up enemies then launching a fully charged Bone Spirit. A single use of Bone Spirit spends all essence upon use, which is where the “charging” part of the gameloop comes into play. The build alternates between two cycle which are charging your Essence then spending it all via Bone Spirit to deal millions of damage against enemies.
The build is entirely a burst build so our DPS fluctuates to insane values but once our Bone Spirit and Essence are down, our DPS plummets down to the ground. Thankfully, the amount of Offensive Aspect we have can allow you to one-shot any enemy that's on the same level as you or a few levels higher with just a single attack.
Most of our supporting skills focus on Damage Reduction and safety skills such as Bone Storm, Blood Mist, and even our main Primary Attack Reap. These skills allow us to survive enemies while pulling them and grouping them up and also for evading enemy attacks while waiting for our cooldowns. We slot in Iron Maiden to be used as a mob Essence Generator since it gives us a free 5 Essence per unique enemy hit.
This gives us an Essence Generator against mob groups which is what the build excels against. Lastly, we use Corpse Tendrils that is empowered with Grasping Veins to apply Vulnerable for a strong damage multiplier then getting another multiplier from the Grasping Vein aspect. This allows our burst damage to shoot through the roof and is integral if we want to make sure the build can be lethal against any enemy we face.

Raise Skeleton | → | Warrior (Skirmisher) |
Sacrifice |
---|---|---|---|
→ | Mage (Cold) |
Sacrifice | |
Golem | → | Iron | Sacrifice |
This is the standard setup for a Sacrifice (Solo) Necromancer that utilizes bone skills as bone skills rely on applying Vulnerable and inflicting critical strikes to enemies! Mage (Cold) can be exchanged with Mage (Shadow) for a 45% damage increase to Bone Spirit.
However, doing so, you must invest more in Resource regeneration which can easily be done against mob groups but you may struggle with doing it against bosses. In general, this current setup will provide you with a more reliable DPS boost against bosses but may deal lower amounts of damage against normal enemies.

Gems and Hearts | Paragon |
Item Type | Effect |
---|---|
Royal Emerald (Weapon) | +12.0% Critical Strike Damage to Vulnerable Enemies |
Royal Ruby (Armor) | 4.0% Maximum Life |
The Barber |
Type: Wrathful Critical Strikes and all subsequent damage within 2.0-4.0 seconds is absorbed by your target. Then, the absorbed damage erupts onto surrounding enemies. Stored damage is increased by 10% per second. |
Tempting Fate |
Type: Vicious You gain 40-60% Critical Strike Damage but your Non-Critical Strikes deal 20-15% less damage. |
The Sacrilegious |
Type: Vicious Walking near a Corpse automatically activates an equipped Corpse Skill every second, dealing 40-30% reduced damage. |
For Gems, it's best to use Emerald for the additional Critical Strike Damage to Vulnerable enemies. This is extremely good because you can consistently apply Vulnerable to enemies using your Corpse Tendrils.
Ruby is very valuable to increase Maximum Life, which increases overall survivability.
For Malignant Hearts, The Sacrilegious is one of the best to slot in to have a better uptime for Corpse Tendrils. With this heart, you can group enemies more often and apply Vulnerable.
Next, you have The Barber Wrathful Heart. This is arguably one of the best Wrathful Hearts in the game, as it can significantly boost your burst damage.
For the last Malignant Heart, take Tempting Fate for the additional Critical Strike Damage which is going to futher increase the build's potential burst damage.

Bone Spirit Build Tips |
---|
|
1 | Pass through enemies and lure them in one location |
---|---|
2 | Open up with Reap to gain some damage reduction from your Aspect of Might and Reap's own damage reduction to survive the mob |
3 | Use Corpse Tendrils to inflict stun and get bonus damage from Grasping Veins |
Optional | If the damage you are taking is getting high, you can use Blood Mist to evade the attacks while Corpse Tendrils is still on animation. You can also use Bone Storm as an alternative if Blood Mist is used while pulling enemy mobs |
5 | Use Bone Spirit to clear the whole mob group |
1 | Use Reap to Generate a Corpse |
---|---|
2 | Use Corpse Tendrils to gain your damage multiplier |
3 | Use Bone Spirit to deal burst damage |
4 | The boss should die at this point but if the boss is still alive, you'll want to focus on gathering resources once again with Reap |
5 | Repeat the combo once the Essence has increased to a healthy level |
Bone Spirit's damage is gated around two things which are your cooldowns and your Essence. Playing around both is key to making the build work. With the Enhanced Bone Spirit upgrade, we halve the cooldown straight up but we also have to cover our Essence spenditure.
Regenerating your Essence after casting Bone Spirit is important so grouping up enemies for multi hit of Reap can generate a good amount of Essence as well as hititing scattered mob group with Iron Maiden. You'll want to do these while Bone Spirit is on Cooldown to maximize the build's gameplay cycle.
When fighting mob groups, just grouping them up then straight up using Bone Spirit would often suffice but when fighting Elites, Bosses, and mobs that are scattered, you'll want to use Corpse Tendrils to amplify our DPS. It increases both our Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike damage so we want to use it whenever possible.
Since Bone Spirit spends our entire Essence per use, we'll want to be able to quickly regenerate our Essence once its down. Reap is our primary attack and can generate 4 Essence per enemy hit which can quickly refill our Essence against enemy groups. Iron Maiden on the other hand, gives us 5 Essence per enemy hit but it can only apply once per enemy, use this as one of your openers and for farming essence before grouping them up to maximize its effects.
This build is focused on killing enemies it hits on the first time which includes bosses. Due to this nature, the build struggles with its DPS against bosses that can survive the initial hit. You can regain your Essence via Reap but note that against a single enemy, this process will take you a while which makes the build struggle against high level dungeons.
