We highly recommend optimizing your character's DPS against Ashava. Ashava is a World Boss with lethal attacks so it may be tempting to build resistance effects such as armor or poison resist, however, it is still imperative to optimize your build's DPS and focus on contributing damage to the fight as the battle only lasts for 15 minutes! As long as you're not dying to stray poison puddles, it is safe to fully commit your stat investments to damage instead of defenses.
Most of Ashava's lethal attacks are telegraphed such as its 360 Double Swipe attack and Ground Pound. While being lethal attacks, they are also evadable. Instead of investing in defensive stats, it's better to understand how Ashava's attack patterns work so you will have to invest less in defense and be able to put more stats into offense to clear the battle easier. However, if you're dying to poison puddles, be sure to invest some skills into regen effects or shields to survive the fight longer.
Ashava's lethal attacks consist of mid to long-ranged attacks. The only lethal attack that Ashava can use at close range is its instant bite attack. Stay close to Ashava without staying near its face to avoid dying against her!
While easier said than done, it may be near impossible to stay near Ashava when using the mouse and using the game's default controls. To make kiting Ashava at close range easier, update your controls and remove the left click to basic skill and bind it to move or move and interact! This will allow you to left-click on Ashava to avoid attacking and instead, move near it!
It is highly recommended to team up with other players should they choose to fight Ashava the Pestilent. As a world boss, you can expect Ashava to hit harder as well as be more durable against your attacks. There is also the fact that only 12 players can fight Ashava in a single instance so making sure that you can at least cover one-third of the current players with players that have optimized builds and a good understanding of Ashava will greatly increase the chance of a successful run.
You can use this opportunity to attack freely and deal significant damage while Ashava attempts to recover.
Crowd Control is a generic term for debilitating effects which limit or stop enemy movement. The table below lists all effects in the game that contribute to Crowd Control.
Crowd Control Effect List | |
---|---|
Stun | Immobilize |
Slow | Knockdown |
Taunt | Fear |
Tether | Daze |
Knockback | Petrify |
Chill | Freeze |
While it may be tempting to wait for allies to resurrect you to get into the fight again, remember that dying to Ashava means you are in a location that is under Ashava's lethal range. Waiting for a different player to revive you means putting them in danger and delaying the team's damage output. Time spent trying to revive another player is time spent not hitting the boss so revive yourself and take the 10% equipment damage and return to the fight immediately!
As a last resort, you can always try to lower the World Tier. You may get an upgrade that can help you beat Ashava the Pestilent at a higher World Tier.
Ashava bites in front of her dealing damage to anyone in melee range. You can avoid getting hit by this attack by dodging away when you see Ashava's head tilt back.
Ashava spits out and leaves acid pools on the battlefield. After the spit animation, the pools of acid remain on the ground, so you should be mindful and avoid stepping onto them.
Ashava sweeps her claw clockwise around her in a 360 degree radius, then sweeps with her other claw again around in a 180 degree radius.
Ashava tucks her arm before she does the first swipe, so when you see this animation, fall back and create plenty of distance between you and her as the claw extends quite far.
Ashava leaps up and lands in an area, knocking down anyone in said area. Ashava will dip to a low stance before leaping so once players see her get low, evade or stay in an area not directly in front of her.
Ashava pounds the ground in front of her then swipes both claws from in front of her to the back. This attack will initially pull you in and then deal damage by way of the swipes. If you see Ashava putting her claw up in the air, get out of the way immediately as this is the animation for the first part of this attack.
Players who defeated Ashava at Level 20 during the Betas and Server Slam obtained the Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy. This is a beta-exclusive cosmetic you can attach to your Mount after unlocking it in Act 4!
