You will get the Whispers of the Dead priority quest after finishing the Main Story. Speak to Lorath in order to start the quest to unlock the Whispers of the Dead Events.
Finish Main Campaign
The Whispers of the Dead priority quest will only appear in your Journal after the credits roll. Finish the main quests to unlock this end-game specific content!

| 1 | Speak with the Lorath in Hawezar After completing the main story, talk to Lorath in Hawezar to begin the quest towards unlocking the Whispers of the Dead Events. |

Whispers of the Dead Events
Whispers of the Dead Events are harder, end-game challenges that will reward players with Grim Favors. These events are scattered throughout the map, and has a set time before disappearing.
How to Complete the Tree of Whispers
Grim Favors
Grim Favors are the main rewards for completing Whispers of the Dead Events. Simpler challenges will grant 1 Grim Favor, but harder Whispers of the Dead Dungeons can reward players with 5 Grim Favors at a time.
Exchange Grim Favors for Equipment Caches
Once you have 10 Grim Favors, you can offer these to the Tree of Whispers in the Writhing Mire in exchange for an equipment Cache of your choice. This can prove to be very useful, especially when farming for specific gear.
