The screenwriter of "Baldur 3" is open to the secondary creation of characters: Just don't be too hot

In an interview with Edge magazine, Adam Smith, the lead writer of Baldur's Gate 3, was asked how he felt about the future of Baldur's Gate 3 no longer being controlled by him, and how he would see other people create with the characters he created in the coming years. He said that players should continue to "inherit" the game in the way they like.

"People start making their own stories, whether it's Hasbro, the owner of D&D, or fans on Tumblr, but once you put them (Baldur 3 characters) into the world, they belong to other people," he said.

Adam Smith further stated that he really wants to see what other people have created, and while there are some things he doesn't like - such as a lot of hot fan art - he also stated that if someone likes it that's great, and he doesn't need to like it all.

It was previously reported that there would be no sequel to Baldur's Gate 3. In this regard, he said that this game has occupied a large part of my heart, but now all his creative focus is on other things. "We have told our story, and I think it is a very good story." He said.
