Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 released in September, official MOD support is coming

Baldur's Gate 3's patch 7 will be released in September, including official mod tools, new endings, new fixes and quality improvements.

Patch 7 testing is divided into two phases, first with a small group of mod authors closed alpha testing (now open), followed by a closed beta test starting in July, limited to 1,000 players. The new mod tools will provide players and creators with a more convenient way to access and manage mods on all platforms. Official mod support will also improve compatibility and stability and will be managed through mod.io.

The mod tool was first launched on PC, and then expanded to Mac and console platforms. Console players can only browse and use mods, but cannot create them. Mods need to be reviewed before they can be used in the game browser, and the console platform has an additional review process.

Larian Studios will try to provide guidance on unofficial mods, but will not provide full support. There are no plans to provide long-term technical support.

It is worth mentioning that when players commented that they hope to launch cross-platform games and photo modes, the official responded: "We are working on it."
