Assassin’s Creed Mirage Won’t Be Getting DLC, But Its Director Admits Ubisoft Does Have A Few Ideas To Continue Basim’s Story

Assassin’s Creed Mirage released October 2023, and was a much appreciated return to an older time in the Assassin’s Creed franchise history.

Instead of it being a grand, massive, arguably bloated open-world RPG, it was a much more scaled down, linear experience, something more akin to the original bunch of Assassin’s Creed Games.

There have been a few updates for the game since, but players were curious if there would be anything more substantial, like a DLC expansion.

According to the game’s director, there’s no DLC coming, but Ubisoft does “have ideas on how we could extend the story of Basim, surely.”

That was the first part of Stéphane Boudon’s answer in a recent Reddit AMA, spotted by VGC.

“We’re thrilled by the reception to Mirage. Mirage has been designed as a standalone experience without any DLC plan. However, we have ideas on how we could extend the story of Basim, surely. But as of today, no post launch content is planned for Mirage.”

Even beyond that, there are “no major updates” coming to Mirage.

“We have no plans for a new major update but we’ll keep monitoring the game and listening to player feedback,” Boudon said.

No plans for now doesn’t mean forever, so there is still a small chance that something could still happen regarding Mirage DLC.
