Palworld 1.000.012 (v0.3.11) Brings Improved Pal Summoning and UI Refinements

The latest Palworld update, v0.3.11 (PS5 version 1.000.012), is all about making the game smoother and more fun to play. They’ve made it so your Pals pop up closer to you, which makes using them in the game a lot easier and more seamless.

Another cool change is with the user interface: the reticle now only shows up when you’re aiming, cutting down on visual clutter and making the gameplay feel more immersive. These tweaks show how much the devs are polishing the game to resolve any issues that crop up.

Palworld 1.000.012 (v0.3.11) Complete Patch Notes:

Player

  • Adjusted the summoning mechanics of player-owned Pals to ensure they appear near the player.

UI

  • The reticle will now be displayed only when the player is aiming.

Palworld is a creature-collection survival game set in a vibrant, open world where you can capture, train, and battle with creatures called Pals. It’s got a mix of whimsy and survival, with crafting and adventure elements. You can farm, build shelters, and explore dungeons with help from your Pals.

There was a whole drama right after Palworld came out. Folks on Twitter were quick to call out some Pals for looking suspiciously like Pokémon, accusing the game of ripping off designs. The CEO of Pocketpair, the game’s developer, stepped in to clear things up. He mentioned that a single grad student they hired in 2021 had come up with most of the character concepts, and the game had passed all legal checks.

Things got spicy on January 24 when The Pokémon Company made a statement hinting at Palworld, saying they’d look into any intellectual property infringements. It got even messier when the CEO of Pocketpair revealed they’d been getting death threats on Twitter because of this.

Fast forward to September 19, 2024, and Nintendo, along with The Pokémon Company, slapped Pocketpair with a lawsuit for patent infringement. Pocketpair responded that same day, expressing their disappointment about the lawsuit and saying they didn’t even know which patents they were supposedly infringing on.
