In Palworld’s colourful world, you’ll find a wide range of Pals, ranging from the diminutive to the destructive. If you’re looking for the latter, then this guide on how to get Astegon in Palworld is for you.
Much like Pokémon, the game’s clear visual inspiration, Palworld is all about tracking down creatures, called Pals, and catching them. Some of these are easier to find than others, however, with Rarer Pals typically being more powerful. Astegon is a prime example of such a Pal, and in this guide, we’ll show you how to claim one for yourself.
Palworld is currently available on both Steam and Xbox. It’s also free to download on both platforms for Game Pass subscribers. For more on the game, check out our guide on how to get Ancient Civilization Parts in Palworld.
As with all Pals, there are two steps to catching an Astegon: finding it, and battling it. We cover both below.
Astegon can be found on an island in the north-east corner of the map, known as the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary. In order to reach it, you’ll need a flying mount such as Nitewing to cross the sea. Assuming you’ve explored the north-eastern region, the closest fast travel point to this island is Deep Sand Dunes.
Once you’ve made your way to the island, you’ll be able to encounter Astegon roaming in the wild. Like the rest of the Pals in this area, Astegon will be around level 40, so be sure to bring Pals that match or exceed that. Also try and bring one or two Pals with the Ice or Dragon types.
These types have an advantage against the Dark/Dragon Astegon, and using them will make it easier to wear down and capture one. Be sure to bring along some high-level Pal Spheres, such as Mega or Giga Spheres, as well. Using these will increase your chances of capturing the mighty beast.
Once you’ve captured an Astegon, you’ll find it has a range of uses. It can be used as a flying mount, or a capable miner thanks to its Mining 4 skill. You can also use it in battle, where its fearsome appearance will intimidate your foes.
