Riot seems to be losing its charm. With each update, it leaves players disappointed. There was a time when Riot was open-minded and used to put players first; however, that is not the case anymore. Valorant has changed the developer.
There are so many things wrong with the game currently, including an unnecessary ping nerf that no one asked for. Developers should always look at resolving issues, not creating more; the ping nerf precisely did create more problems.
In addition, instead of fixing the game’s issues, Riot is now trying to shift players’ focus towards the recently released Araxys 2.0. However, they are not fooling anyone; we know it is just a reskinned Kuronami in a different color.
There was a time, during the early years of the game, when Riot cared about player satisfaction more than anything. It now seems like all that was just a facade that it used to lure in as many players as possible before showing its true colors.
The recently released Araxys 2.0’s melee weapon is the carbon copy of Kuronami with a similar stance, design, and layout. Who is Riot trying to fool at this point? Most players have been a part of the game since the beginning and have seen the best and worst of it.
Valorant’s early skins were known for innovative designs and cool animations. They still are pretty cool; it is just that the design team at Riot seems to have hit a creative block. There could not be any other explanation for releasing the same skin with a different name.
There are already a lot of other issues that need fixing, including the annoying ping nerf that restricts players to ping beyond a smoked area. This does not bring any change in the gameplay but is rather just an annoying roadblock you meet.
Riot needs to pull up its socks and rethink some of its decisions. Players are not happy with the recent updates, and things need to change if it does not want the player count to drop in the future.
A live-service game’s success is directly proportional to player satisfaction. Players run the game, and if they are not satisfied, then the game will not succeed. For a long time, players have been asking for a replay system in the game, but Riot has turned a blind eye to these requests.
For starters, Riot should first be open-minded about player suggestions and engage in dialogue with its community. It should listen to the grievances voiced by the player community and focus on fixing those first. Do you think Riot has drifted from the path recently? Let us know in the comments below.
